Does Wilba's frontpanel support clickable encoders?

The PCB seems to have holes for switch connections on the encoders, but the encoders SmashTV sells aren't clickable.  I'm probably going to build a second Seq V4, and I'm wondering whether I should use clickable encoders.  Are they supported by the Wilba frontpanel?  If so, what do they do by default?

True - it looks as if they all connect to the same DIN - which means that the only thing you can do with the buttons is to activate a shift (encoder speed?) function. So it's probably not worth going for encoders with switches...

Oh, right...  That makes sense - it does look like they're all the same switch rather than a differentiatable matrix.  ...yeah, probably not worth bothering with clickable encoders then.  Thanks.

Sorry for the late update

Pushable encoders, that do speed up the current encoder data input (when pushed) are awesome!

First experienced it on the Elektron MD... it is also  supported by MBSEQ V4 via FAST2 (in mbseq_hw.v4).

When you get used to it, you don´t want to miss that feature anymore  as you basically have

two encoders at your disposal - a standard one with 24 "clicks" per turn (for fine trimming) and one with the equivalent of e.g. 120 "clicks" per turn (for fast parameter changes), when the speedup-factor is 5 for example.

Many greets,

Peter

Sure, but in order to accelerate the speed, the encoders don't have to be clickable - you can configure any other button to take over that functionality. I was meaning to say that there is no point in exchanging already existing encoders!

Fully agreed!

Just wanted to point out the advantages of pushing-the-same-encoder-to-accellerate input, especially if you are busy knobfiddling somewhere else with your other hand. But i also would not replace already working (non pushable) encoders for that, but maybe if someone plans a new build he/she gives it a thought! :)

Many greets,

Peter
