mongrol
Hi folks, A lot of documentations say the gap between panel and PCB should be 10mm. Can someone tell me why this is? Is 8mm doable? I'm looking at LED's and if I go rectangular would like them flush with my 3mm acrylic panel. I intend to get LED spacers to ensure they are all uniform. Hawkeye
Hola, 8mm is definitely doable, am also using 8mm spacers in the last build, the Flatsequencer :-), you just need to measure component heights. You can socket the shift registers @8mm, but need to look at the encoder heights, especially if you are using 16mm encoders. The good thing about 12mm encoders (with bent legs) is, that you can solder in the menu encoder just as the others (and shorten the shaft a little bit). Many greets and have fun! mongrol
Ta Hawkeye. I'll aim for that then. Will measure up the LED's and order appropriate LED spacers.
