arumblack Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Ok, I just soldered up a DIN module, on a board i ordered from smash tv. i think i remember somewhere reading about flux residue i need to clean off? what do i use to clean it? water? alchohol?obviously i am going to do this without the ic's plugged in. should i test it first? The flux does make resistances between gaps, but they´re so dammit high that they normally dont count.*IF* (IF!!) you should have problems with that anyhow (never heard of that) use Aceton. But don´t go now and buy Acetone, just get the nailcolor cleaner from your girlfriend (or your mom or whoever) and clean it with that - nearly the same stuff much cheaper and with a nice smell... ;) Quote

I've got a whole bottle of nail polish remover, it was working good to remove etch resist( too bad the boards didn't come out so well, next time i try i am going to use the photosensitive boards and see how that method fairs...) thanks for the tips!
