TK.
http://www.voti.nlThe quality of the rotary encoders is extreme good, they've the same "expensive" feeling like ALPS encoders, but they are much cheaper and easier available for hobbyists. So, Voti kicked Schuricht from the pole position, it's my #1 recommentation for rotary encoders now :) Note that the rotary encoders have the same pinning like ALPS STEC16B, see also http://www.voti.nl/common/sw_rot_1_doc.gifThey are detented, 24 pulses. In the meantime I prefer such encoders instead of the non-detented ones. They are especially perfect for MIDIbox SEQ and MIDIbox SID - type: "MIOS_ENC_MODE_DETENTED2"Voti sells also other usefull stuff for the MBHP projects, like PIC18F452, 10 MHz crystals, LCDs, etc.. uclaros
Cool! Can the detent be removed like on other encoders?
Rowan
HiI am currently in the process of doing a bulk order directly form the manufacture of these encoders. @TK, do you have the manufacter's part number?I'll see what price I can get them for, I should be able to pass them on for 20% less.I've recived samples of the 16mm encoders which are about half the price of the 11mm encoders. These are quality encoders which have a good "feel". I prefer the movment of these over the Phiper encoders I have been using until now and cost about 10 times less.@uclaros; i'll pull one to bits to see if the dent can be removed.I have to order these encoders by the thousand, so I need to know that people will want them.I'll start another thread to poll what people want.RegardsRowan
kruz
are those voti's encoders vertical mounting? or horizontal? its data sheet at voti is not really clear
kruz
i've asked directly at voti, here is the reply:> - Is it vertical mounting or horizontal? If PCB-mounted vertically. Can also be front-mounted, but theconnections are straight (not solder-eye type).> - What kind of shaft it has?isolated (plastic) 5mm diameter, 13 mm long (from end of thread), flatside, groove at the top.> - Is the metal collect threaded?you mean the part that you use for front panel mounting? that isthreaded, and the nut (or is that called bolt?) is included.
