rotary encoders

im in the process of building a box with jog shuttles am i right to understand that rotary encoders with spring returns are available i only seem to get the albs site in german and i dont read german very well

do i need a rotary encoder for the functions of the box as well and how manybuttons are needed for the functions

Hi,

I don't know any rotary encoder with spring return. I guess that you mean a jog wheel which consists of some buttons - and for this I don't know a distributor - maybe somebody else could help.

Number of buttons: up to 128 are supported by MIOS itself, only 64 by MB64 and MB64E, but you can add a small and simple software handler for the remaining 64 buttons.

how many buttons do i need to control the box's functions on the old 64 i needed 4 buttons for the box
