Screaming_Rabbit Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 HelloI found this display by surfing on the web:http://www.lcdexceltech.com/lcdpdf/0264.PDFUnfortunely I couldn't find anything about the operating voltage.Does anybody know more about this "DIL E" connention type?Do I guess right, that this display doesn't need a controller, that each bar is activated over individual pins.If yes, could I use this display as a substitude for led graphs in my MidiBoxLC and connect the pins instead of LEDs?Thanks and greetsRoger
Screaming_Rabbit Posted August 26, 2004 Author Report Posted August 26, 2004 I tried to get some information from this company. They didn't even respond to my mail >:(
pay_c Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 DIL E? No idea. But normally you can´t use LCDs as a direct substitute for LEDs. The operating stuff is totally different. E.g. some LCDs need negative voltage for contrast and positive voltage with higher current (like 100 mA) for backlight.
Screaming_Rabbit Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 ... strange, that this is not specified on the datasheet. They write unter driving sheme: "direct". So I thought, who knows, perhaps they could be driven like a substitude for LEDs 8)Thanks for the input pay_cGreets, Roger
