just a thought: drum triggers

Hi. Me and a friend are starting a sort of synth rock type band and we want to mix electronic drums with normal acoustic drums. To make it easier for our drummer I was thinking of constructing some drum triggers which he could mix in with his normal set. The triggers would be based around a remo practice head and a piezo transducer, mostly because I've seen designs using these online (link below) and the head is relativly inexpensive while still having good feel.  

The idea is that the trigger will produce an analog voltage which can then be read in via an AIN board and translated into a midi signal via a MidiBox Core.

I was thinking of making a basic box with analog inputs for each drum (snare kick etc.) on the front and a single midi out on the back. When a certan input recieves an analog signal from a trigger, it sends a midi message for the corrisponding drum on a drum machine.  The user would be able to easily switch a trigger between drums by just switching the trigger input and multiple triggers would be able to be used for different drums, with the posiblity of constructing an entire kit if need be.

No no no! There might be buffer circuit for piezos, but where's the software?!

I would still recommend tried and tested desing by  Admir: http://www.midibox.org/edrum/

This buffer circuit is based on Admir's input design, and the MIOS app to use it is a work-in-progress that has not been released yet.
