SounDuke
Does the jdm work connected to the serial port of the computer without the connectors for core J3 and the 2 isolated bridges needed to make them work? thanks for the help
SounDuke
one more thing: I built the JDM module using the .brd in Eagle: so the 10k pull down resistor is in RB3 of pic16f. how to put the resistor in RB5 (i'd like to program a pic18f)? Do I need to desolder the 10k resistor from VSS and rb3? Thanks a lot
smashtv
Does the jdm work connected to the serial port of the computer without the connectors for core J3 and the 2 isolated bridges needed to make them work?Yes, it works fine. The CORE PCB's that I ship don't even have a J3 connector since ISP is not needed anymore. (My JDM kits still have the extra parts for ISP though, since some JDM's get used for non-MIDIbox stuff)so the 10k pull down resistor is in RB3 of pic16f. how to put the resistor in RB5 (i'd like to program a pic18f)? Do I need to desolder the 10k resistor from VSS and rb3?Just add another 10k for RB5, no need to pull the one from rb3.Have Fun!SmashTV
SounDuke
thank you, but I don't understand how to connect the two pins with a resistor: I made the pcb so that the 10k resistor connects RB3 and VSS; to connect RB5 and VSS I have to solder the 10k out of the pcb and not in the holes right? SounDuke
I'll try to be clearer: Is it correct to solder the 10k resistor directly in the same holes where the IC socket is soldered (pins RB5 and VSS)?
smashtv
I'll try to be clearer: Is it correct to solder the 10k resistor directly in the same holes where the IC socket is soldered (pins RB5 and VSS)?I do it this way, resistor on the solder side of the board (10K from PIC pin to PIC pin) but anywhere is fine as long as it goes from RB5 to any VSS connection.I wrapped mine up to further reduce the possibility of a short.Best!Smash
