sid - no sound

hi, i've built a midibox sid with a 6581 chip on it, minimal configuration... the interconnection test works well and the software installation works well too, but i still don't hear any sound. At least.. i hear a low buzz, which changes a bit if i cange the used patch with jsynthlib..

does anyone know were the problem can be? :\ I have installed first of all the bootloader, then mios and then the sid application (sid6581 without cs).

yesterday i changed the orientation of the quartz because before it was placed in the wrong way... may it be broken now?

in "standby" my current voltage values on the 6581 are:

more or less 4,6V on Cap1A, Cap1B, Cap2A, Cap2B

0,03V Clk

11,83V Vdd

5,30V audio out pin

4,65V audio in

5,00V vcc

0,10V on potx and poty

more or less 0V or 5V on the logical pins

the "real" audio out is at 0 volts

Hi,

are you really using a quartz/crystal, or an oscillator?

I haven't the voltages in my mind, but If you are not sure about the oscillator, you could also connect the clock input of the SID directly to PIC Pin #17 (remove the oscillator before you are doing this!)

Best Regards, Thorsten.
