Depends on how clever and experienced you are ;) If you're a beginner, a LCD will be veeery useful!

mhhh... have you ever looked for "USB" on this site http://www.ucapps.de ???

Yes, but only for about one or two hours or so (never tried it)

can t believe iti got it working so quickly

now i am tired and go to sleep tomorow i ll have to try to program all the encoders and the buttons

....RAPHAELl thanks even irony s appreciated :-) of course i tried to have a look at the USB project for the midiBox but it seems like it s not reliable isn it? there is a guy who has another project midi/usb but 20 bucks for a pcb and 20 for a programmed pic is as expensive as an interface on ebay ...

good luck to everybody

There are two USB interfaces:

http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_usb.html is very reliable. I've built already two of them.

The development of the easier to build USB-PIC interface (http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_usb_pic.html) is constrained by a buggy PIC.

So there is a working solution, but you will have to solder a multi-pin SMD chip.
