shaduz Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I just finished the SID and CORE v2 modules. The core is working and i succesfully uploaded the os and the application, but the sid outputs only high volume noise. The voltages are ok, but i don't know if i connected the psu in the right way:the c64 psu has a 5v DC output and a 9V AC output, i hooked up the 5v dc into the core (without the 7805 regulator) and the 9V AC into the sid module. Do i miss any connection? should i also connect the 5vdc to the sid module?I'm using a 8580 sid.hope someone can help...Shaduz Quote
kokoon Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 you have build a small circuit:http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_sid_c64_psu.pdfand the optimized version:http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_4xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf Quote
shaduz Posted October 10, 2005 Author Report Posted October 10, 2005 In the optimized psu:the 7809 and the capacitors are those stuffed into the sid board? or shoud i remove them from the sid board? what about the 2200uF and 100nF capacitors? Are them on the core board or external? ??? Quote
kokoon Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 i haven't built the optimized one yet but what i can gather from the pdf:- the sid boards are left as they are- the core boards have the 7805 removed and shortened 1-3 (as seen in the pdf)- the psu circuit needs 4 caps, one resistor, four diodes, a double switch and a 7809.- connect everything as shown in the pdf. and don't forget the terminating cap @the last sid/core pair (since you have only one you put it after it) Quote
shaduz Posted October 10, 2005 Author Report Posted October 10, 2005 ok so there are two 7809: one on the sid board and one on the psu, right? Quote
kokoon Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 i looks like you leave that one as it is yes. but better have someone who built the optimized psu answer that. Quote
raphael Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 ok so there are two 7809: one on the sid board and one on the psu, right?Right ;D Quote
