1truewheel
Hi all. I'm in the process of building this new pic burner and I don't quite understand the schematic. For instance, IC2 pin # 3 goes to +5v and so does the power (green) LED. Where do I access the +5v??I see that pin 14 of IC3 has +5v coming out. Would I tap into that? :-[
raphael
Hmm... As there is no PCB for this project available, it's not to easy for beginers. To answer your questions:Hi all. I'm in the process of building this new pic burner and I don't quite understand the schematic. For instance, IC2 pin # 3 goes to +5v and so does the power (green) LED. Where do I access the +5v??IC2 is a voltage regulator which produces the 5V out of the 12-13V at J2. So just connect all the other pins with a +5V (e.g. IC3-pin14,R12, R11...) to Pin 3 of IC2. I see that pin 14 of IC3 has +5v coming out. Would I tap into that? Like i wrote above, ther are no +5V coming out of IC3. The +5V are comming from IC2. Normally there are no different symbols for voltage sources and sinks in schematics. So you have to know at least what the ICs are doing to unterstand how it works.Raphael
1truewheel
:)Thanks a million raphael. You helped clear things up quite a bit. On with the soldering!! ;D
TK.
Please let us know if your MBHP_BURNER is working (Mike currently creates a PCB, I want to get a feeling about the "success level" before the first release)Best Regards, Thorsten.
