leelinn
Ehm.... stupid question:-[...i:i'm looking for a C64 PSU power connector. Unfortunately i don't have an old C64 and i wan't to buy one ( price are too high!!!). hhmmm...maybe could i use two midi connectors? One for C64 psu and one into midi sid box. Do u think they can support high voltage or midi connectors work only with midi signals (low voltage)?
TK.
You could use the same connectors, but don't do it - the risk that you or somebody else mixes the two connectors and destroys your MIDIbox or any other MIDI gear is too high. Instead just use an alternative format for the PSU plug/socket - there are different DIN formats available, and they cost exactly the same price like a MIDI plug/socket pairBest Regards, Thorsten. kokoon
i'd say it's best to use the connector like the original one. that's 7-pin DIN, if you find the female connector that is.offtopic - but regarding the DIN connectors - i just found a shop in my town where i was able to buy a "domino" din male connector. domino is the funniest DIN configuration i've ever seen - it has 5 pins in a 4-pin symmetrical square positions plus one in the middle. it can be plugged 2 different (180 degree) ways (at lest in my tape recorder, which i needed it for)

I have checked the respective connections on psu board too so i think to be able to mod. connectors. However i'll try to find the original female C64 connector!
