florian_lennon
Hi, I want to make a CV box, so I ordered a set from Mike's, but I am a little confused about how to stuff the module, because the PBC looks completely different than the one on the .gifWas there a change in the design and the new one isn't uploaded, yet?Flo
raphael
I've got one from Mike last year and it was exatly like on the uCApps site. So better ask Mike if he send you the right PCB. AFAIK there is no new design for this board.RaphaelP.S: Mabe he send you the new AOUT-LC (LowCost): See this thread: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=4037.0This module works with a resistor ladder instead of the expensive MAX525. florian_lennon
Hi, I finally managed to get the AOUT-LC module stuffed by using the schematic. But I have got one more question:Where do I get the trigger or gate impulse from, it isn't in in the schematic and I want to control an analog synth.Flo
TK.
Hi Flo,you need a special variant of MIDIbox CV in order to get the module running (it's currently only supported by a beta version of MIDIbox SID).The gate will be available at the J5 port of the core module, which is normaly used for analog inputs...I'm still working on the next MBCV release, e.g. a friend brought me his MS20 synth, so that I'm able to implement and especially to test the V/Hz output curve feature. Also a 96ppqn sync output is under construction. If nothing unexpected happens, I will release it this weekend.Best Regards, Thorsten. florian_lennon
You mentioned a beta release of the midiboxsid, does that mean, that I can controll a sid and an aout module with the same core? that would be really cool for me.Flo
TK.
Cool development! Thanks, TK!you're welcome! :)The firmware is final now, next step is to write the documentation for so many new options (ooof!)You mentioned a beta release of the midiboxsid, does that mean, that I can controll a sid and an aout module with the same core? that would be really cool for me.yes, but the AOUT module is controlled by MIDIbox SID specific parameters, and there is no special menu which allows you to customize the function of each CV output. It can only be changed directly in the software.Currently the AOUT_LC outputs the filter and resonance parameter. Both can be modulated with LFOs and EGs, see also this demo: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=5633.0Best Regards, Thorsten.
