smashtv
Heya Toxic!Sounds like you are passing power through the Core MIDI out, not good at all...Clip the middle pin of Core:J13 (MIDI OUT) and see if this cures it.....if not there is another ground path (cases touching?).If you are using my Core R4 board and onboard jacks, cut the trace labeled "GND LIFT" between the holes....this has exactly the same effect as cutting J13:pin2.(I put the two pads/holes there so a 2 pin pinheader could be installed and jumpered drive select style if the trace is cut)Please let us know how it works out, I am compiling notes for a future wiki entry on this issue.BestSmashTV

moebius
Hi toxicWe would really like to help You, but You don't give enough information about your setup ect.if it display only a line on the first caracter row???Tells us that screen looks like initializing correctly. Can You see anything coming from the midibox -> PC midi input? Did your core module pass voltage tests as explained in the core module page at uCApps.de?ect.Moebius

NorthernLightX
I think (and hope) you didn't upload MIOS yet, because if you didn't, the behaviour you're reporting is exactly as expected. As in "perfectly normal working order".The MIDI message must be the PIC reporting itself as ready to be supplied with MIOS.

I'd be happy to test it for you as soon as I have a Core online... (I'm in Holland)Cheers, Alex.
