midihuh Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Been trying to figure out a way to use slide switches instead of faders, but....Any recommendations would be appreciated, even if they are cost prohibitive (all my ideas are :P) Quote
illogik Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 hi; i dont think i know what you are talking about; but i hope this is because your giving very little info ;); what do you mean exactly with a slide switch? stuff like this?http://www.ittcannon.com/products/products.asp?pid=1026what kind of application are you designing (what is your box supposed to do, what do you want to do with motorized switches)?cheers, marcel Quote
midihuh Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Posted May 1, 2006 Hello, yes those are slide switches. I want to make a LC Midi box but I don't need all of the analog values of a fader. Just something like a 5 position slider switch, but I want to be able to do midi recall of their positions.A motorized fader would work if they have those with detents. However, I initially started thinking of other ways to accomplish this a little more cheaply since I don't need faders, just really switches.Maybe it's clearer if I call it a motorized 5 position selector switch? What other info. would be helpful? drin Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 I want to be able to do midi recall of their positions.I don't understand what you mean by 'MIDI recall'. Can you explain step-by-step what you want to do? Maybe it's clearer if I call it a motorized 5 position selector switch? No, not really. Switches aren't motorized.-drin Quote
illogik Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 you want to be able to select 5 values of a parameter instead of going trough the whole range of the parameter, right? and you want to see which value is selected when you choose a different program/preset?you can make this with 5 buttons and led indicators but you would probably have to write some code so the leds work the way you want Quote
stryd_one Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 I was thinking of what illogik said with five buttons, or otherwise you could just quantize the values on a fader. Quote
