analofbrotha Posted July 25, 2006 Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 I just got and build my first boards,Din,Core,sid, and plan to build contol a set up with 20 x 2 lcdI got all the parts including lcd from smash (awsome) I do not have the original commodore psuI do have lots of different wall adaptors,Which I plant to put in case.? Do I need 2 seperate power supplys?cautious to go any futher...I was told I only needed one 12v power supply?limited to net use,Have done alot of reading maybe I'm missing something..If someone could tell me what to get I sure I have or can find it or them..I would like only one psu that I could put in case as I've mounted a computer type power cord to 12 700ma psu (inside) and then to power button to two pin...?I'm looking for a link for the wire up of 20 x 2 lcd....Thanks for your time and help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
analofbrotha Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 26, 2006 Apply power to the module after all parts except the PIC and the optocoupler are mounted. Check the voltage levels between the most important pins with a multimeter (analog or digital doesn't matter) before plugging the PIC and the 6N138 into the socket:IC1:MCLR(1) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5VIC1:Vdd(11) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5VIC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5VIC2(8) - IC2:(5) = 5VI don't understand where mclr(1) is? where so I test?
