lylehaze Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I'm building a new application. I've searched the forum and Wiki, I can't seemto find an answer to this..My project needs just one encoder + one button. When I study the skeletonproject, It seems to require me to identify which DIN register the encoder isconnected to.Can I use the MIOS encoder handling without using a DIN board? There's plentyof available pins on the core that should work. Thanks,LyleHaze
TK. Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Hi,no, it's not possible to use encoders without DIN. But you don't need to build a PCB, just mount it on the same vectorboard to which the rotary encoder/button is mounted - the 74HC165 is just a small chip and costs about 0.35 EUR - no need to provide alternative solutionsBest Regards, Thorsten.
