DerNub
Hi,At first: Thank you very much for this nice project!Unfortunatly mine MB CV makes some strange problems:Everything goes fine, if I only connect the MB CV directly to a sequencer (tested with PC + Moto 828 / Midiman 4x4 and MAM SQ 16)and only one Midi Ch. is running.First problem is if I put some (or only one) devices between the Seq. an the MB CV in the Midi Chain, I get "Midi Time Out Whats Up ???"... Second is, if I try to use the Midi-Out as a Midi Through the Box starts to draw more than 0.5A from my modded PC Powersupply and thats toomuch for the Supply and it goes into protect... the bizarre thing here isthat the midi out works well if connected to PC Midi In for programming and stuff..Next Prob is if I try to use more than one Channel on the Midi Chain theMB CV seems to behave like Mono ... for example I play 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 on MB CV at CH. 8 and if I switch on a sequence at ch. 3 with 1,5,9,13 the MB only gives 3,7,11,15 out ... Maybe someone has an Idea ...thx MaxP.S. I hope everybody understand what i try to explain - my english isn´t the Best ::)
TK.
First problem is if I put some (or only one) devices between the Seq. an the MBCV in the Midi Chain, I get "Midi Time Out Whats Up Huh"... Could you please upload the MIDImon application and check, which MIDI events are received when this happens? It sounds, like one of your MIDI devices sends an invalid or incomplete MIDI eventSecond is, if I try to use the Midi-Out as a Midi Through the Box startsto draw more than 0.5A from my modded PC Powersupply and thats toomuch for the Supply and it goes into protect... the bizarre thing here isthat the midi out works well if connected to PC Midi In for programming and stuff..Thats really strange, I never heard of such a effect.Maybe - alternatively to the assumption above (wrong MIDI events received): could it be, that one of your MIDI devices has no optocoupler at the MIDI In? And if this device shares the ground with the core & AOUT module, then some really unexpected things can happen - this is the reason, why according to the MIDI spec each MIDI device should have an optocouplerNext Prob is if I try to use more than one Channel on the Midi Chain theMB CV seems to behave like Mono ... for example I play 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 on MB CV at CH. 8 and if I switch on a sequence at ch. 3 with 1,5,9,13 the MB onlygives 3,7,11,15 out ... I just tried to reproduce this, but without success. I don't want to except that this is a bug, but it could also be related to your MIDI Timeout issues. Once they have been solved, could you please try this again? And if it still happens, could you then send me a SysEx dump of your configuration? (It can be sent from the last menu page, and it can be received with MIDI-Ox)Best Regards, Thorsten.
