MIOS uploaded, syx upload fails

Hello

I have succesfully (guess so, at least MIOS Studio claims so) uploaded MIOS, but when trying to upload midio 128.syx either with sysexbox or MIDI-OX I don't get any response from core and obviously the PIC didn't get the program.

I have core set with preburned bootloader ver 1.2 from SmashTV and the only exception from the kit is that my optocoupler is 6N137 instead of 6N138.

When troubleshooting the module with sw_loopback_test's main.hex I got many meaningless messages into MIDI-OX's input monitor but couldn't verify midi feedback loop within MIDI-OX; on the other hand, MIDI-Out port on core module seems to be working when uploading the MIOS. . .

Any ideas, how to proceed with troubleshooting?

best regards

Jussi

Hi Jussi,

in addition to MIOS, you need to upload the MIDIO128 application, which can be found at the MIOS download page.

Thereafter you will be able to upload the configuration file :)

(nice to know, that this is the only problem!)

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Hi Thorsten

Thanks for the advice. I really managed to upload the application and configuration. Unfortunately my organs pedalboard refused to work until I found the nice little trick on J1 connector on SmashTV's DIN modules PCB (S1 location is slightly difficult to see). After fixing the cable everything works fine.

I also had a discussion with my optician and she promised to deliver to me new glasses still this week.

Many thanks for great system and quick help.

Best regards

Jussi
