I am getting ready to put together a MidiboxCV to drive my recently-constructed rackmount SoundLab Minisynth (http://www.musicfromouterspace.com) and I was a bit confused reading the instructions- can I use the bootloader pre-programmed pic from SmashTV for a basic (2 CV channels, using the "AOUT-LC" interface) version without needing a PIC programmer? I would love to be able to program the CORE module right from my OSX box via MIDI/whatever without needing to build/test/learn another microcontroller programmer.  Am I on the right track?

Any help would be welcome- I can't wait to start building, but I want to know in advance whei I am going to need to do.

yes you can use a pre-burned PIC from SmashTV, then, you will have just to program the MIOS and the MB CV application thru standard MIDI interface..

Be sure to let us know how it goes, I'm thinking of putting together an MBCV myself to control some of the stuff from MusicFromOuterSpace so I'd find it interesting to see how others go about it.
