SounDuke Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 hello everyone, I'm going to buy some keyboards from fatar in Recanati (very good quality keyboards, if someone needs them you can contact me to ask them for orders as their support is not very reliable). I was astonished by the great effort profused by Qbas, thinking that his application may solve my problems. I'm going to buy 3x76 keyboards, I'll go to recanati to find out the mechanical and electrical specifications that they jealously hold and reveal only to those who order. FOR QBAS: By the way, as I haven't find any diagram except the SMexample by Thorsten, I would be interested in acquiring some docs regarding Qbas's setup of the 11x12 keyboard you used as I can't figure out how you wired the 2 dins and 2 douts. How did you change the message sent by each key? Thanks in advance Quote
stryd_one Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hi SounDuke,I must apologise to yourself and QBAS, this must be yet another thing that I lost when my task list in outlook went bye-bye a month or so ago (I hate computers!). I have a copy of the source code I can send to you in the short term and find a longer term solution soon. It's back in my to-do list now :) Quote
SounDuke Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hi stryd ;)well the code is still available http://www.avishowtech.com/mbhp/files/sm_16x16_vel.zip, are you working on a different code? I'd like to know the hardware diagram since the setup looks different from the one depicted in the diagram of Thorsten's example. This way I can test wether Fatar's hardware is reliable and post the results Quote
QBAS Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Can anybody tell me where is the best place to store files for share?eventually I can send you email with scheme (worst case)Please don`t do a secret of it ;)SounDuke can you give any link for the keyboards, and prices? Quote
SounDuke Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hi qbas, obviously no secrets, apart from the color of the boxers I'm wearing ^_^ Probably you couldn't establish proper contact with fatar as they perhaps trash "normal" mail sent by mail clients and only read those you send compiling the form at http://www.fatar.com/home_fatar.htm . My advice is to let me make the eventual orders you want as their support is very bad for private buyers. I'm going wednesday to Recanati (Leopardi's house!) so if you want me to check prices and hardware let me know which models you would like to purchase. Could anyone host Qbas's docs? Quote

SounDuke Posted October 20, 2006 Author Report Posted October 20, 2006 from the specs of a fatar keyboard with 76 keys, they made the design using 8x20 matrix with 2 connectors with 20 poles; the keyboard is divided in two 8x10 separated matrices, the first for 38 keys (76 keys in total for velocity) and the second for the remaining 38 keys. I'm trying to figure out how to wire the 2 different matrices to the din and dout boards, any advice? Should I connect the columns of the separated matrices to the same shift register but wiring the lines to other din registers? Quote
