stryd_one Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Courtesy of MatrixSynth, I was checking out this interesting DIY 32 osc additive synth and followed a link to NetSynth.org. Cool stuff definitely worth a look if you need a DIY curiosity fix ;)I found it interesting that the Cyclone FPGA was appearing yet again... I seem to remember TK talking about playing with those once upon a time, and I've seen them done elsewhere for SDIY stuff....Anyway hope the links are interesting :) Quote
Jidis Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Uwe Beis likes those too-http://www.beis.de/Elektronik/Electronics.htmlI had (have) plans to do the DPLCM meter he designed, but I haven't been in contact for a while. I'm hoping he can still get me a board. :-\-George Quote
pay_c Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Hmm, FPGA's are really becoming a "normal" topic nowadays I guess. But say, aren't they *still* just dammit high-priced? They DO have DOZENS of advantages, clear, but the price for the functionality is kinda pretty upstairs, isn't it? Quote
Jidis Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 I know that one board for his meter was (to me at least). IIRC, it may have been upwards of 100 USD :o. Not bad for the guts of one giant project, but sort of scary for those of us who are used to throwing a ten dollar PIC into whatever we've thrown together just for kicks. Quote
