mattias
Hi all..Is it possible to use a single 4x40 lcd insted of two 2x40 lcds for MBSEQ v.3?..//Mattias
stryd_one
It'll chop up the menus, but if that doesn't bother you....FWIW the hd44780 spec doesn't allow for displays that big, they're handled as two 4x20's, IIRC, or two 2x40's, if I don't ;)Edit: I don't RC at all ;) a 4x40 works like two 2x40's stacked atop one another. See my next post.
mattias
So you recomend two 2x40 then? Is the other doable or is there serius coding required?I have got limited surface on my box so if I use two lcd:s i have to stack them, I cant fit them side by side. Any ideas?..//Mattias
stryd_one
TK recommends two 2x40's yeh. According to the doc I always refer to a 4x40 will interface in pretty much the exact same way. I should have remembered that I'm using FF now and I can search my bookmarks :) I've edited my last post.In short: Yes, it'll work, No coding req'd... But it might look funny. Check out TK's Screenshots page for an idea of what will get broken up.
mattias
The chopping of menus is not a big deal. They will be cut in the same place as with two 2x40:s. But I cant find any info on what pin E2 shulod be conected to on the CORE?I am also planing to use encoders with "buttons" insted of the 16 step buttons. If it´s not a bad idea? ???
