napierzaza
SmashTV doesnt' appear to sell a kit for PIC burning. I know it's not necessary for buying PICs from him but I would like to try and save money via getting samples and then burning them myself. Is there anywhere where I can get the kit? I would use vectorboard but it seems rather difficult considering there's so many components of different specs.
audiocommander
there's the "good-luck-with-it" JDM module from SmashTV:http://www.avishowtech.com/mbhp/mbhp_jdmR2.htmland the (newer) MBHP-burner kit and/or PCB is available at Mikes Shop (located in Germany):http://www.mikes-elektronikseite.de/http://www.mikes-elektronikseite.de/shop_englisch/index.htmNote that you need a +15V power supply for MBHP-Burner, but I found that most +12 universal power supplies have easily +16V if measured...I have both, and got the impression that the Burner is much faster and more relyable than the JDM.best regards,Michael
napierzaza
Okay, I totally want to avoid Germany considering I'm assuming the shipping is much sicker to Canada. Any other reasons to get it from Mike's?
Jidis
Napierzaza,I've done a couple of the Burner Plus'es. If I can mail you one from the US (in an envelope), it's no trouble. Can't help you with the rest of the parts though (guessing you've got a dealer there). I actually never found a pair of buffers laying around here for mine, so I haven't used it yet. ;DGeorge
napierzaza
Jidis, I'd really appreciate that! Thanks! i'd email you but your email is hidden, but you can email me if you like. Thanks very much for the help.
Jidis
Just mailed you. Let me know if it doesn't show up.GeorgePS- Coincidentally, a man named Bill from up there etched, drilled, and tinned my first MIDIBox board for me for barely enough for the parts and some time. I think he teaches PCB/electronics, but I'm not sure what part of Canada he's in. That was a giant "Greg" board BTW (64 ins/outs/pots and Core all-in-one).
