Pots & Faders - Where is minimum ?

hi !

I have a simple question.

The fader and pots which are on the maximum  should have 0 rezistance ?

And when the faders and pots are on the minimum  should have 10 K Ohm rezistance ?

It's quite important couse i don't want to create a panel where my faders will be running upside-down

Thanks for all answers.

This cannot be answered directly, cause the resistance depends on where you measure (you have three, not two pins on a pot/fader).

With pots it´s alwasy like this (looking on the pot from *above*):

  O

| | |

1 2 3

Pin 1 goes to ground, Pin 2 is the signal, Pin 3 is + 5V. This means if the resistance is measurend between Pin 1 and 2 it should be zero if turned all counter-clockwise and 10 k clockwise. Between Pin 2 and 3 it´s the opposite.

Faders the same, just that they normally look like this (Pins are the same):

3-||

  ||

  ||

2-||

  ||

  ||

1-||

Resistance Pin 1 & 2 = 0 for fader turned downwards and 10 k for upwards.

Greetz!

Been there friend. 8)

Rest assured, if you accidentally did, I was given a fix here which wasn't all that difficult (just a couple lines). Best to try not to do it in the first place anyway. ;D
