Triple-J Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Did you saw this before? They are expensive of course ;)http://www.ineltek.com/inet/ineltek.nsf/(vwHTML)/Zero%20position%20programmable%
smashtv Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Hi Triple-J!Your link is not working (that site is hard to link to)...These are quite cool. Its a standard IC package that will read the position of a small magnet rotated above it with very high resolution. Basically an encoder with no moving parts where it counts. ;)I don't know how well they would work mounted next to each other (conflicting magnetic fields)....I can dig up more info and spec sheets if anyone is interested, just reply in this thread.BestSmash
Screaming_Rabbit Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I don't know how well they would work mounted next to each other (conflicting magnetic fieldshttp://www.austriamicrosystems.com/03products/products_detail/AS5040/download/AS5040_AdapterPCBOperationManual.pdf... it seems like this is no problem. In the application guide it says, that the magnets should be 0.5-5mm away from the chip (... and we're talking about neodym magnets).Greets, Roger
