Lima Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Hello, seeing that's this is my post in this beautiful forum, I would like to introduce myself:I'm Marco and I'm from Italy.Last summer me and a friend have build a couple of midibox plus ;Dthese are a couple of photos:Pre-assembly shoot:Final work:cheers, Marco :)
SLP Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 yeah! Back to the roots! :DThe simpliest, cheapest and best midibox ever!
stryd_one Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Maybe not the most simple - those look like custom PCBs for the CS to me :) I like the way there's a kind of 'border' around the buttons! What kind of timber is the casing? it's a nice tone, is it some kind of American Oak?
Lima Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 Thanks a lot for the good words! ;DThe timber is mahogany but for the bottom I've used some standard ply :-)The buttons' pcb is custom.:)
Lima Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 These are a couple of other photos:close-up on the knobsthis one shows better the true color of the timber used for the side:)
dj3nk Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 yeah i made a electrical guitar out of a mahgony block with NO ELECTRICAL MACHINES. :DBut looks really good.
Sasha Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Mahagony... are you sure? I get 2 peaces of mahagony after alot of hunting which I save for secial case, but mine is darker and kinda more redish than yours. Maybe it is because of camera... Annyway, nice box and nice knobs.
