Okay, so I have a M-Audio UNO and Reason detects it fine in Mac OS X 10.4.9. But when I run Beta 7_4 of MIOS Studio I get nothing detected. Is there any known issues such as this? Should I use a PC? I read somewhere it works with Mac but it doesn't appear to. I didn't have drivers installed for the device, but did find some once it didn't work automatically with MIOS Studio. But it still doesn't work in MIOS studio.

I see it now, it's in the MIOS Studio page.

"Mac user may want to download PlumStone to ensure that Java can access the MIDI hardware on their system"

Didn't really sound like it was essential.

Thanks Stryd.

No worries mate. This seems to come up quite a lot (I've never used a mac but I'd heard of it) maybe that text should be in bold and the word "may" removed ;)

Glad you got it working..

Interesting note on the Uno:

Some are "class compliant" and some are not.

Earlier ones needed a driver installed, later ones are "Class Compliant" and use the builtin driver in XP and OSX.

I bought one when I was writing a class driver, and got one of the last ones that will not work. Oh Well.

They appear to be identical, at least in appearance.

The package clearly states "Class Compliant" on the later

ones that work with the built in drivers.

Another way to tell is to check the Class and Subclass

numbers.. Class compliant MIDI interfaces are

Class 1 (Audio)

Subclass 3 (MIDI)

But unless you are running OS4 I won't be able to tell you

which tools to check that with.

Have Fun,
