Steven_C Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Hi people,Just wondering if anyone knows of any other applications that allow spontaneous live multiple track recordings like ableton does, but without the price tag? I already have logic and have figured out how to do something similar with midi recordings (cycle mode), but I'd like to do it with audio as well.Just checking out what people know before spending the cash.Steve. stryd_one Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 There's a Live clone for linux... damned if I can remember the name though :( Quote
audiocommander Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 If you buy Audio Hardware that comes bundled with a Live-Special Version you can upgrade for prices similar to a student-version (IIRC I updated for ~200 bucks from LIVE2-special edition bundled with an M-Audio card to LIVE4, full version). For me, Live is one of the very (very) few programs that deserves to be paid. And I also think (compared to other audio-programs, live's price is quite reasonable... could be still cheaper of course, but it's in the range...) :)Cheers,Michael Quote
Jidis Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Steve,Check Reaper if you haven't already (www.cockos.com). Not sure it's what you're after, but there isn't much to lose with it (unrestricted free trial/$40 non commercial/200 otherwise). The minimum requirements are exceptionally low and the support (for now) is incredible.Good Luck,GeorgePS- GUI is about like Windows3.1 ;D , but there are some themes and stuff you can use. Quote
