Thanks for the comments,

Do you have a page with info on that?

Not yet, but there are a few other pics posted on eDrum forum : http://www.edrum.info/forum/index.php?topic=988.0

The midi xylo consists of standard build of eDrum16 module, which connects to 14 piezos mounted under pieces of wood which are strapped down onto a wooden frame with cable ties. The bits of black stuff between the notes/pads and frame are from hacked up bits of truck tyre inner tubing. The piezos are sandwiched between layers of foam and mounted under the individual notes. The current design still exhibits some crosstalk triggering between notes, which will require messing around with more variations and layers of rubber and foam before its fully playable. Crosstalk damping is the main design challenge for building a MidiBeam/xylo. Although the eDrum module is highly responsive and functions very well, I am also interested in building a processor based on the MIDIbox64 experimental drum application, and using all 64 available inputs (if possible) to build a 5 octave MidiBeam, and possibly further develop the application specifically for handling a xylo type controller.

I will post a link here once a descriptive page is up. :)

Perhaps it would help to mount the "keys" more like vibrophone keys?

Ie drill two holes from one side to the other. One hole about 1/5th down from the top, the other about 1/5th up from the bottom.

You then mount the keys using string passed through all the keys, usually tensioned at one end.

Could cut down a lot of the crosstalk...
