mbSID V2 stereo questions

Ok, let's begin:

there is the "shift" switch on the Minimum Control Surface to select sound engines, is this the equivalent to the MultiSID panel 4 switches with leds to select each chip?

Stereo version with minimum control surface can work for all the new modes* without any changes to the software?:

*Lead Engine

*Bassline Engine

*Drum Engine

*Multi Engine

or each new mode uses different app?

thanks

Hi,

no, the engine selection is not the same like the four SID switches.

With the SID switches you can switch between the master and the three slave cores.

Each core can handle any of the four engines without uploading a new firmware.

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Hi Thorsten! :)

Hi,

With the SID switches you can switch between the master and the three slave cores.

so, if using minimun control surface you still can select between master and slave on stereo mbSID via the screen menus? or for that matter, between mono and stereo?

Each core can handle any of the four engines without uploading a new firmware.

MBSID V2 firmware includes all the four engines and you can select the one you want to use then?

sorry for this questions, is not that clear to me from what I can understand on the manual :-[

mono and stereo doesn't have anything to do with master and slave. one core can control one (mono) or two (stereo) SIDs. Which one ore both is selectable in the menu at the relevant places. Master and Slaves selection is only relevant if you have more than one core. For that, the SID1..SID4 buttons come handy :) But with one core and two SIDs you don't even need these buttons.

Yes. The engine is selected in the patch. There's only one firmware that includes all engines.
