  1. Hello, At my first run, the MBHP_CORE module sends only 0xFF messages in the Midi Out, and MIOS Studio cannot communicate with it. I tested it in Windows and Linux, with 2 different MIDI interfaces : an edirol UM-880 and a "bad" ESI MidiMate II. And I don't see anything on a 40x2 LCD display... What can I check to find out how to find the problem? Thanks in advance!
  2. OK, I think I see what to do. Thank you for the reply :)
  3. Hello, I am soldering a MBHP_DOUTX4 V2, but I don't see clearly where to put the 4+1 caps on the board: the photo is not clear enough, and the caps are not mentioned in the Eagle board files. Thank you for the help!
  4. Hello, These are the MBHP_DINx4 and MBHP_DOUTx4, so yes, they have 16 bits each one, and will test first a OUT module and 16 LEDs, then a IN plugged on that OUT, and check the output of the IN. Why I cannot test with the core? Please take a bucket of pop-corn : because I destroyed the optocoupler yesterday (yikes, I punched it and broke 1 pin, it was very late, and I was nervous...), but I ordered one other. So, the MBHP_CORE seems working (at least it doesn't burn, and voltages are OK at the control points), but with the bare bootloader. Meanwhile, I will solder the IN and OUT modules and test them with an Arduino.
  5. Hello, Can I plug the outputs of the DOUT to the inputs of the DIN modules, so that I can test them togheter through a serial line ? My idea is : - send 16 bits (16 clocks) - send latch signal - send load signal - read 16 bits and compare Will it work?
  6. Hello, it seems that the 6N139 can replace the 6N138: http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/6N/6N138.pdf
  7. OK, I will try to find out. For the moment I've written a "ebuild" that uses the binary package, and this is sufficient for now :) Thank you very much for your fast, reliable and kind replies, I really appreciate.
  8. Hello, MIOS Studio (binary 2.4.6 for Linux) is too high for my small netbook display : 1024x600. Is there a way to reduce the height of MIOS Studio ? For the moment, I move the window to partly hide the virtual keyboard and I can use MIOS Studio.
  9. Hello, I would like to build MIOS Studio on Gentoo Linux, in 32 and 64 bits versions. I can get the SVN sources and so, build a "live" version, but is it also possible to get the sources related to the binary releases? Kind regards, Xavier Miller.
  10. OK, that's perfect ! It's as robust as my Arduino platform  MBHP_CORE is soldered. Tomorrow, I solder the pins and power cable, and will test it ;)
  11. Hello, I am soldering a PIC-based core module and a SID module. The PIC has the MIOS bootstrap. Then I will upload the OS. I have a question: what happens if the upload fails? Can I upload the OS again without problem? I would be sure not to brick my first MIDIbox project, so I need to be sure everything will be OK
  12. ... and I got the kits today :santa: Just for St Nicholas
  13. Hehehe: packs from voti and midishop are sent... and a colleague will sell me a C64, that will be the power supply, control surface, and 2nd 6581 :) A good present from "Saint Nicolas"
  14. Hello, I got a reply : Mike was in holidays. I changed my order to add a second SID board, a colleage will sell me his brown C64, so that I have 2 6581 :)
  15. I got that error: The mail system <e***0@aol.com>: host mailin-02.mx.aol.com[64.12.139.193] said: 521 5.2.1 : (HVU:B2) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554hvub2.html (in reply to end of DATA command) I tried from 2 different email addresses (different domains), and got the same error. I will try with a gmail account. EDIT: same error with gmail.
  16. Hello, I ordered some kits at Mike's site: http://www.mikes-elektronikseite.de/ and I would like to contact Mike to see how to pay that order. I didn't got any answer from the webshop mail, and the given mail (@aol.com) don't seem to work again (mail blocked by AOL). So Mike, if you pass here, you can contact me by P.M. ;)
  17. Hello, I ordered kits and parts from Mike's and Volti's sites  I feel like I was at 14-15 :santa: (the years of Elex) EDIT: and for serigraphs, I will use laser decal paper.

    Hello !

  22. There is one for sale, but too expansive for me. I will build a MIDIbox SID.
