Hi, I started 8 year ago a Midibox Sid V2, but it was sleeping (kids, lots of other things of life, ..) After successfully building some core modules in 2014, I finally decided to switch to a MB6582 in order to have a cleaner finish. The PCB from Modular Addict is at home, the panels are on going from UK, and I am checking the BOMs in order to acquire the missing material. 8 x 6581 and 8 x 8580 modules are waiting. I will use an original C64 PSU. I hope I will finish it for the end of the year. If someone is interested, I can sell the finished or unfinished the MBHP modules I have (4 CORE, 4 SID, some DIN and DOUT, don't remember how much) So I'm back.

Hello, What do you recommend to fix the PCBs in the box? What are the systems to place screw mounts on a plastic case? What are the standard pieces to get (screws, mounts, ...)? I am a really newbee in that hardware domain... Kind regards, Xavier.

Since I've got a C64, I have one more question : I see there is a large voltage conversion circuit on the right of the C64 motherboard, with even a 7805. Does it mean I need to stabilize the 5VDC or is that 7805 there only to be sure the voltage is stable ?

Update: I got a C64 today, but its SID is dead : 1 voice produice a constant 440Hz sound... I swapped that SID with one other, and the sound is OK... so I need to get an other SID. I see there is one left in the Flearmarket :)

Hello, I will get a brown C64 today, which will complete my set of 4xcores, 4x6581 and 4x8580. I will use the optimized PSU set-up, and some things are not yet clear for me: - the 7805 are dropped because the PSU provides stable 5V - there is a 7809 to stabilize the 9VAC output, and combined with the 5VAC output, it provides 5VDC and 14VDC - the "Optimized PSU" document don't mention the MBHP_SID 78xx : do I need to put one 78xx by MBHP_SID, or can I use one 7809 for the 8580, then link the power to the three others, and the same for the 7812, or is it better to have all MBHP_SID their own 78xx to avoid ground loops? Hello, One core can have only the same SIDs, so if you have 2 different SIDS, you need at least 2 cores. Per core, you can have 1 or 2 SIDs.
