  1. Thanks Jerome! I found an scs variant (ilmenator) in tutorials. It seems to use a single soft button and an encoder.
  2. Some time ago i posted an image of the desired layout here
  3. I'll have 4 oleds (4x 128x64) in a row as main section of my controller. The problem is that the 4 SCS soft buttons below a tiny oled do not fit nicely (two buttons width = single oled width). 1. Is there an alternative way to control the SCS? 2. How can i change the SCS font size? 3. Is it possible to display the SCS across all 4 OLEDs? Are there any modified SCS layouts?
  4. For when you chain DIN and DOUT serially rather than with a split IDC. Ok, if i want to chain DIN, DOUT and DIO modules i'll need both SI/SO lines, right? What does split IDC mean? RC was shared for MIOS8 but is split for MIOS32. To maintain upward compatibility, separate the two. What modules would need seperated RC1/RC2 lines?
  5. New DINX4 layout, do you see any obvious issues? Later i'll make the round pads a bit thinner and the signal track width larger (currently 10mils).
  6. DINX4 J1/J2 connectors schematic http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_dinx4_r5.pdf 1.) Can someone tell me why there is a S0 track on this photo which is not in the schematic? 2.) RC seems to be bridged although it says RC1/RC2 on the Core32 schematic. Why is that? I assume the schematic is 100% correct, or not?
  7. Thanks @latigid on Regarding MBHP_DIO_MATRIX_V1 pcb I see large ground polygons on the photos and quick-view, but can't see them in Eagle. Will the .brd work none the less? http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_dio_matrix_v1.brd
  8. Here my first try of my own DINX4 module in Kicad. Please consider that i don't have any experience in this. I'm not sure especially with the D0-D7 to IC1 tracks?
  9. Hi @Phatline i only want some boards for my own purposes that i would saw into single pcbs. Maybe i made it not clear enough. I do not want a special layout, simply all three pcbs on a single pcb. I think it would be the cheapest to produce them that way. If i can't get the DIN/DOUT pcbs, i could order more DIO Matrix boards instead and be done with it. Is it allowed to send the ucapps .brd file to a manufacturer? Thank you
  10. Sorry, i don't want to sound like a beggar. Am i a cheapass asking for this?
  11. Right, but a little expensive if you want quantities more than 2-3 of each board. If i wanted only one to two of each i would buy them ready made.
  12. You're totally right, but i have too many tasks in front of me. Some things have to be done with a simple solution.
  13. For keybeds for example or led switches and DIN/DOUT for encoder/switches/led bars.
  14. Hello, i'm looking for current pcb layout versions of DINX4 and DOUTX4. I want to merge DINX4, DOUTX4 and DIO Matrix pcbs into one file and have them produced as one board, but only DIO Matrix is available as current .brd file on ucapps. Can someone help with the files and maybe merge them into a single file, since i don't have experience and software to do this by myself. Thank you very much.
  15. I wonder if its right that the cable between Core32 and AINSER64 is twisted. Is my wiring correct?
  16. Thanks @latigid on AINSER is my main concern, i thought it could add up noise.
  17. I ordered my resistors at Reichelt and used the uCApps orderlists. The orderlists part# results in carbon film resistors, but i see blue (metal?) resistors on the soldering guide photos.
  18. Can i use cheap carbon film resistors for NG boards (CoreSTM32, AINSER, DIO Matrix ...)? It says carbon film resistors are more noisy and i don't know if they add noise to a Midibox system. Should i use 0,6 1% metal resistors instead of 1/4W 5% carbon film ones?
  19. @Hawkeye They seem good, but are too short for my purposes.
  20. I'd like to test some of these, but the long delivery times holding me back. I was hoping for others experiences :) What's up with Bourns PEC16? Some seem to have trouble with them. That would be my current choice, since Alps EC11 are ridiculous expensive.
  21. Do you think these cheap encoders are as good as alps/bourns? http://www.ebay.de/itm/10pcs-12mm-Shaft-Push-Button-Rotary-Encoder-Switch-with-Keyswitch-Position-20-/141509098078?hash=item20f2997a5e:g:iusAAOSw37tWDp7E or http://www.ebay.de/itm/10PCS-Rotary-encoder-with-switch-EC11-Audio-digital-potentiometer-handle-20mm-/221931394758?hash=item33ac2456c6:g:TMkAAOSwT5tWOVhf
  22. Thanks, useful information. Makes sense, 24 step encoder would otherwise mean more than 5 turns from 0 to 127. No, haven't used Elektron gear.
  23. Please explain, what is meant by acceleration? Getting more steps per turn? If i understand you right, i should avoid functional navigation in general with pushable encoders?
  24. Do you mean i shouldn't use encoders with integrated switches at all?
