  1. WOW!!! What a nice looking encoder. Great info on how to make and connect it tool I'll have to give this one a try. Don't forget to look at http://www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm and check under controls for a nice program to print encoder wheel patterns. Mickey
  2. Hi All, Here are a few interesting pages that may give you some ideas on building a keyboard from scratch. http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/organ/organ.html http://www.well.com/user/smalin/organproject.html http://www.angelfire.com/mn/organlcms/organpro.html http://www.archive.org/ and put shift.merriweb.com.au/harmonium/diy/index.html into their search box, then pick one of the page dates and click on the link on making a small organ keyboard. (The original pages on the 'net are gone, but the Internet Archive has them archived.) Later, Mickey

Hi All, Take a look at Delcom at http://www.delcom-eng.com/ for an inexpensive USB chip at aroun 8.00 USD. (They also have a development board also for about 49.00 USD.) Schematics and data sheets are available on the site. I have not tried the chip yet, but I got interested when someone on another list had written MAC OS X drivers for the Delcom chip. Later, Mickey
  4. (Slightly off topic) David have you seen the Mechanical Music Digest at http://mmd.foxtail.com ? They have quite a bit of discussion of band organs/street organs/fairground organs and most other mechanical music equipment. If you would like to discuss this off list, my email is msadler@netset.com. Later, Mickey
  5. David, I am interested in a similar project. I have not made the MIDIO28 yet, but looking at the software in the folder mk_midio128_syx, then the folder samples you will find the midio128.ini (and a relay.ini that shows changes that can be made to the midio128.ini to drive relays). This should be the place to make the changes and then use mk_midio128_syx.pl to build the sysex file to be loaded into the MBHP Core. Later, Mickey
  6. The book I am planning on buying (later today I hope) is Programming and Customizing PICmicro® Microcontrollers by Myke Predko. It has a PCB for the "El-Cheapo" programmer and a CD with the software for the examples in the book, several types of programmer software, and a bunch of other "good stuff". Check out the information on the book at http://www.myke.com. Myke has put software updates on the web site and says he will continue to add updates and other information as necessary. Later, Mickey
  7. HI All, The new forum looks great. :D It looks like it loads faster, and is easy to use. Later, Mickey
