  1. Hi, i have Yamaha SW60XG soundcard, which is really good. Unfortunetly it is old ISA soundcard, so it is imposible to use it with modern computers. I just wonder if it's possible to connect it to PIC somehow ? Card do not use IRQ and DMA. If You heve any knowledge about isa protocol, or any idea how to do it, please let mi know :) Regards, Przemek
  2. Hm... Midibox SID with alesis AL3201 reverb... It woul'd be great :)
  3. I just can't wait, I have to ask You one more question: is it correct list of modules for fully featured SIDBOX with one SID ? 1 CORE with PIC18F 1 SID 2 DIN (1 for encoders, 1 for buttons), 2 DOUT (leds & ledrings) 1 LTC 1 LCD 1 BANKSTICK I'm just going to start work as soon as possible. Im not good in soldering and it will be long process... But it's worth it :) Regards Maniac
  4. Great panel, The LCD is 16x4 ? I would add two more LEDS (midi in/out - Â not very useful, but I like shining LEDs 8) ). I'm wonder, if movement of encoders will be transmitted by midi ? It would be great to add special mode to control external modules (eg. VSTi) instead of internal SID - it would be cheaper solution, then building MIDIBOX SID and MIDIBOX16E/64E/NG ? Maniac.
  5. Hi, I have found distributor of rotary encoders in Poland: http://www.microdis.pl/. There is no minimal order, shipping is free (in Poland) for orders > 200 PLN (1 Euro ~ 4 PLN). Here are the prices for STEC16B03: 1pcs ---> 12.75PLN 10pcs ---> 11.48PLN 50pcs ---> 10.33PLN 100pcs ---> 9.8PLN (netto). Unfortunately there are only 6 encoders in the store now :(. I was told, that next delivery from Alps should be in two weeks. The prices from http://www.schuricht.de are more attractive, but its not for individuals :( Regards, Maniac
  6. New SID features are really COOOOL ! Thorsten, can You tell us how many rotary encoders are you going to use in front panel ? I'm going to order rotary encoders next week for midibox16e, and I would like to order some extra encoders if they will be used in sidbox ? Even if design is not finished, the part list would be very helpful :) BTW. I have probably found place in Poland, where it's possible to buy ALPS encoders without minimal order. I will verify it next week and post here information about condition and prices. Regards, Maniac
  7. Hi, I’d like to build Logic/Mackie control & SID box with control surface. I’m a little bit confused, because I can not find place, where I could buy rotary encoders, motor faders and PIC18F. Probably there are more persons in Poland in the same situation - I would like to exchange informations with people from Poland which have build / planning to build midibox. Maybe somebody has bought these parts from online shop: which one to choose? Every information will be helpful. Marry Christmas to Everybody.
  8. HI, i found somewhere in internet instructions, how to build standalone module using waveblaster extension card (like DB50XG). I wonder if it is posible to build such module with YAMAHA PLG cards (for example PLG100DX). I know, that PLG connector has 15 pins. If somebody knows pin-layout of PLG cards, please let me know. Marry Christmes to Everyone.
  9. HI! As I remember, there was possibility to control 'Ed Lib tracker' by midi keyboard connected thru mpu401. In this case it is probably possible to use soundcards joystick port as a midi interface and play adlib sounds from Cubase or other sequencer. I don't remember if it was possible to use arpagios or other more complicated sounds ? I have to try it next week  ;D Here is a place, when You can find some old FM Trackers : http://www.astercity.net/~malf/trackers.html (I do not know if any of them works with midi - let us know if You find one. BTW. It could be quite interesting to build synth module (like SID BOX) with OPL chip. With additional effects / filters it could generate interesting polyphonic sounds. Regards, maniac
  10. Thanks for your replay Pilo. I like the idea of making one big order. Maybe somebody else is interested? From the other hand I would like to know, if rotary encoders will be used in control interface of SID BOX? I am going to build at least one SID BOX next year (still looking for 6581), so I could by more then 16 encoders now.
  11. Hi, I'm looking for distributor of rotary encoders in Poland (or somewhere in Europe, but without minimal order) ? Best Regards, Maniac
