Don't rush mate, as I won't be able to, unfortunately :( I thought about making an installer but it could be tricky to make it work for different setups... You'll notice in my documentation that I've specified which package name you need, cause I hate that too :)

That's not a good thing... You want it fixed at 1.5x your RAM for a DAW, otherwise the system will thrash your drive resizing it and slow things down - especially on a laptop where you prolly have a 5k4rpm drive.

I don't mean to be a PITA, just want to help to avoid confusion with terminology... Whether it is momentary, or latching, it's still a switch. The button is the bit of plastic that you push on, to actuate the switch.

Kinda. Sorta. Not really ::) I don't think it's your fault. I think I can safely say that in over 25 years as a musician that is the worst implementation I have ever seen of any instrument. Probably the worst seen by anyone, ever. Obviously it's intentional by zoom >:( Nah man, the way you are doing it seems to be the right direction. Exciting stuff :) I vaguely remember hearing that MBNet might allow for even more than 8 SIDs one day... Perhaps that might be worth considering, perhaps two of the base PCBs could be chained up somehow? I'm guessing this would just be a matter of having pads to connect the CAN bus... I'm also wondering if the base PCB is likely to be suitable for driving a CS PCB which uses a 2x40 LCD with more buttons/encoders but without the LED matrix, to take advantage of the new mod matrix screens? (which I think has been mentioned around here too? We spoke of this last time you visited my place) This would be particularly relevant to those of us thinking about a rackmount case. If those things could be accommodated without too much alteration that would be very cool... As for the IIC MIDI, I take it that we can still have multiple outputs direct from the slaves or something? Yeh, start making calls dude ;D

Hey mate... I'm really sorry I don't have a lot of time to throw at this right now, but maybe you could grab a copy of a couple of tools I use to track this kinda stuff, both by SysInternals (MS) called TaskMon and ProcMon - they'll give you much more detail than the windoze task manager. You might like to d/l an audio router thing, so that live is sending data to that driver, might give a hint...

You won't need it to compile for the PIC :)

You seen this? That's a 100% step-by-step click-this-click-that install, so don't be put off by the length of it, you'll find when you start to follow the guide that you probably only need like 10% of it... But the other 90 is there just in case ;) You DON'T wanna use the RC.. It's older than dirt... It's a long story, but in short, the release candidate was discarded and C::B is intentionally stuck in perpetual beta. You need the nightly build (link is on wiki). (I wish they'd say something about that on their front page!) Don't be put off, the nightly builds are far more stable and complete than the RC ever was... If there was a version, it'd be like 1.7 by now or something ;) You do need to configure it to use make.bat to compile. From the wiki above: It looks like a lot, but it's only because I've been very detailed. You'll find that the above procedure is like 5 seconds work :)
