  3. Nice stuff, I was hoping to not have to use a C64 supply because of the size and weight, Hopefully this will be noise free ;) Good work.
  4. http://eclecticbreaks.com/proxfade/ I think i'll use this, It is the best crossfader in the world anyway so i may aswell :)
  5. They dont seem to make a 45mm though, And i would always prefer rails, I may try and manufacture one myself or something ?
  6. No i need rail slides for turntablism, They aren't smooth they are completly loose, you can even blow em with your mouth from one side to the other :)
  7. OK i have had to put a hold on my SIDs for a little while now (Nearly a damn year) but i want to get back into them but first i want to design a little controller. I want a small DJ mixer with 3 sliders and 6 rotarys and two switchs with the ability to add more switchs later if possible. I want to use the sliders from a Stanton mixer because they are rail slides and i need these to achieve the usability needed (Turntablism) They are designed to control VCAs so will this work ? , I thought these would work with the analogue inputs ? Do i have to have a screen or can i just build with a standard MIDI CC setup ? Am i looking at a standard MB64 or do i need to do something else ? A Mixer similar to the one i am using the case of and want to use the faders too Cheers
  8. Ah i found a few places with em in stock NEW !!!!!! ,One was a guy on ebay but he might be a bit dodgy and there only early SIDs not the later ones everyone here seems to like .But i did find somewhere else stocking them new !!! ,So i bought all of em ;D
  9. I ordered the JDM kit about two hours ago ;D ;D
  10. Im guessing because theres no donation link for Thorsten he probably doesnt want one soooooooooooo ,Wouldn't it be nice if we set up some kind of donation scheme and maybe buy him a frontpanel or something every now and again ,I haven't actually built my first box yet but i'd be willing to put money in the kitty for all his great work so far ,Any ideas on this ?
  11. Cheers dude im not gonna do the silly thing of trying to take it on without a SID box this time but my kit came from coinoptech yesterday so i should have it built soon ,Only problem i have now is gettin a power supply an LCD and an encoder ;D ,Oh yeah then i gotta right this plug ;) ,For anyone interested once the SE plug is wo9rkin its gonna be ported to JUCE so it can be used on any platform 8)
  12. Okay i just ordered my kit from one of the recommended suppliers around here and i have to say if your a newbie to DIY projects like me you may be a little worried about takin some of these projects on ,Dont worry atall the speed of service was awesome the PCBs even have a little component outline which helps immensly and the quality is superb ,After recieving my kit i went straight out and got hold of 10 more SIDs to build a couple of step c boxs for the studio . Hope these comments help the newbies (Me) a bit ;)
  13. Im not sure if this is the right place to ask so just moan at me if not ,I just recieved my first SID kit from Smash and when i was ordering i was sure i had the right header burnt into the PIC ,Now im a little worried i got the wrong one ,I checked all the relevant info on Ucapps but now im just not sure ,I got the all zeros option cause it seemed the right option for a single sid with LCD ,Is this right ?
  14. How about a 1900 mha battery pack that can be charged in the Axims craddle ? (Also very light and small)
  15. Right i was workin with Thorsten a few months back on creating a VSTi to control and store patches for the MIDIbox SID project ,Thorsten had a holiday for a while and i ended up very ill so i haven't had contact with him since but i will be remedying that in the next couple of days ,Firstly it wasn't fully working because i haven't got a MSID and i really didnt understand the MIDI bytes stuff but all the CCs were implemented ,Now down to business a fresh start is needed and im gonna need help ,I still haven't got a clue about the MIDI byte stuff but have ordered a SID kit and i have 6 SID chips ready to go so i should have a step A up and runnin soon ,What i actually need is someone who can explain this MIDI byte stuff to me better and any other feedback would be nice too ,I must add that this project is being prototyped in Synthedit and then will be ported to C++ for mac users and so on. Cheers Winston Nu Audio Science
  16. I just bought 4 SIDs to make a step C but i have a 8580 spare ,Now the question is could i make a mobile battery powered SID minimal controls to be sequenced by my Dell Axim PDA running Griff ,Thanx for any advice on this one ,I've never built anything before but i repair arcade machines for a livin and soldering is no prob. Cheers Winston
