I tried both. bending it down and removing it complete... same behaviour...
but now that i slept long enough, I'll give it another try ;)

Did you ever resolve this problem? I just ordered some encoders from smash and want
to remove the detents and was wondering if there is anything I should watch out for.
Has anyone else got these working properly with the detents removed?
Thanks,
Luke

Siple question. Is it possible to have buttons and rotaries on the same DINX4 board or do they have to be one or the other?
Thanks,

So does anyone have any good techniques for cleaning scratchy faders?

Very cool,
I thought about it some more, and I guess all my app would have to be able to do is have one pot send a cc value to live, and also move to the next snapshot in the MB at the same time. Is this possible with the current mb64e app?
Thanks,

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to figure out a way to create relative triggers in Ableton Live. Here is what I have come up with, but I wanted to ask what it would take before I started building it. If this works it will be part of a larger 3 core midi box, but I will only explain the part I am confused about.
For those not familiar with Live's scene navigations, it will allow you to assign a controler to scroll up and down through the scenes, the controller can be a pot, endless rotary or buttons. What I am hoping to do is create 16 trigger buttons for triggering the tracks, 1 knob that will scroll up and down in live. So will it be possible for me to make the knob send cc's to live, but also somehow reassign what cc's the triggers are sending? I figured it might be possible to have the midibox scroll through snapshots as it is also scrolling through live, thus keeping the assigned cc's on the midi box in sync with the selected scene in live. Seems to me like it would get complicated though because if i read it correctly the midibox64e has 128 digi ins, so that would allow for about 6 different sets of cc assignments (I will need to use some other buttons). So it would have to scroll through the 6, then jump to the next bankstick and scroll through the next 6 and so on.
WIll this work? Has anyone else come up witha a good way to have lots of trigger assignments in live with only 16 trigger buttons?
Thanks for such a great project!

Question about Pin headers. Probably a stupid one. So are they simply a pin held by plastic? Can they be cut down? Could you put two short ones together to make a long one? Or are they connected in some other way? Sorry for the simple question, just dont want to spend more than I have to.
Thanks,

Yes i am a fan of the electribe sequencer, and please dont get me wrong, I think Thorsten has done a fantastic job, and I thank all who have contributed. I was just curious. Ill be building a mb seq anyway. Thanks for the info!!

So Im thinking about building the MBSequencer. My question is, is there any way to set it up with a key that you tap in the sequence hits with like a Roland TR box? If not has anyone talked about this for a future release? Personally I think this feature would make the MBSeq the hottest sequencer around especially for live use. I like putting the steps in maually, but in a live situation, sometimes its just too slow.
Thanks,

Hello eveyone,
I plan to build a rather large midibox soon, with 3 cores. This will be my first attempt, so I will have lots of questions. Right now I am just designing and planing.
The box I am creating will be based on the Ableton Live interface. I want to have a bank of 8 buttons on each of the channels on the box. I am wondering if it will be possible to have a shift button the will change the bank of 8 buttons from buttons 1 - 8 to buttons 9 - 16, doubling the functionality of the buttons. I dont have any experience with assembly so programing it my self seems rather daunting. I do have some other programing experience so Im not completly opposed to writing some code, but Im gonna need some help.
This is a great forum and project! Thank you all for all of your hard work!
Thanks,
Luke
