  1. I did all the tests already, you can take a look at the older posts. But because the MIDI IN/OUT jacks are PCB mounted, I can't fix anything ? There is nothing wrong with the solder department. I even opened new optocouplers, in theyr respective bags to change them for the already installed. All the resistors and caps are mounted where they should be mounted. I get the right voltages. The LCD works. I will post detailed pictures of the core to show you how it is. Thanks.
  2. I tryed everything and I can't communicate with the PC. Do you think that would be better to try with other computer ? I don't think so, because my gameport was working fine with the older cores. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks again.
  3. I can't Install MIOS V1.9 because I can't get my core to communicate with my PC.
  4. The sticker on my PIC says that I'm using MIOS_BOOTSTRAP_V1_1B, Is that correct ? I remember that with the old cores, I have installed MIOS 1.8 in the ID_00 pic, the main one. Is it right that the LCD should show that MIOS is installed even without any connection via MIDI ? ( Nothing appears, just the black row when tested ) The tutorial say that the LCD screen is good for debugging. What should I do now ?
  5. Hi everybody ! I mounted my LCD and It's connected to the core. I get a black digit row when I turn it on. What this mean ? And other question : I bought my LCD from smashTV : the backlit does not work, and everything is pretty good connected, following the instructions and the LCD cable tutorial. Thanks.
  6. Ok, yes now I know what you meant. I'm using the new PCB so In theory there's no failure, because you assemble the MIDI IN/OUT on the PCB and it fits perfectly there. Thank you for your help T.
  7. I assume that what you mean with swapping the MIDI jacks is to set up correctly the jack config and the ports on the PC right ? It's cross connected. I mean, The cable that has the "MIDI IN" label, is connected to the "MIDI OUT" of core and viceversa. I posted a picture few posts before with my PC config if you want to see it. Thanks T.K.
  8. I did the two LED MIDI in test. First one it lit, but don't flicker on receiving data. The second test simply don't flicker when sending Sysex mssgs. At this point, what should I do ? :-X
  9. Hello, I bought some new LEDS this evening to make the LED test. I connect the led to the MIDI out and It does not flicker when I send some Sysex dump, It only flickers when I power / unpower it up. Some suggestions ?
  10. That always was an unresolved question for me. In what exact direction you have to face the optocoupler ?
  11. You mean that the drawing for the 6n138 on the PCB is wrong ? :S . . .
  12. Ok thanks for posting and helping here, really ! Now, can somebody tell us if 6 pounds = 11 $ is a right price for a 2x16 blue backlight screen ? Thank you !
  13. That Ebay link I provided is a lot cheaper than these two shops. In these last links a blue LCD screen cost 29 UK pounds while that Hong Kong guy is providing them for 6.02 U.K pounds. I see a big price difference there mate . . . am I right ?
  14. I live in Barcelona, Spain.
  15. No, my problem still here, I can't get to communicate the PIC with my computer. But the problem with the voltage was solved few posts ago . . . thank you for your help and dedication, is much appreciated.
  16. You meant the shipping make them expensive, right ? Do you know where we can get this kind of blue backlight ones for less ? Thanks.
  17. Hello . . . that problem is solved. I get the right voltages everywhere now. Thank you.
  18. Huhuhuhuhu . . . . yes sorry. I forget the link to be provided! : http://cgi.ebay.com/HD44780-16X2-Character-LCD-Display-LED-backlight-BLUE_W0QQitemZ280007211985QQihZ018QQcategoryZ26206QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Thanks and sorry . .
  19. Just wanted to know if this displays are ok for use with our projects. Thanks.
  20. I think isn't the interconnection . . . It's a R4C core and I'm using the PCB mounted MIDI jacks I'm doing PC Out to MIDI IN and viceversa and the software port config is good. One more question. On the R4C you have the option to assemble the PCB with standard to-SIL jacks or the PCB mounted included. Do I have to solder the rest of the pins remaining reserved for the SIL connections. Just for ask. Thanks.
  21. Hi T. ! Thanks for your help, it is always much appreciated. When I do the I/O loopback test I don't receive anything on the input monitor.
  22. I'm here once again, I can't mount the LCD yet. I don't have any ICD connectors so I'm waiting for a new smashTV order. I tested the second new core, and the same happens ! Does that give you any sense of what is happening ? Thanks.
  23. Ok I will assemble it now. Can you tell me how to start the debug process after that ? Thank you.
  24. Thanks T. I'm feeling like an idiot . . . I didn't remember that the right connector with the optimized PSU was the J2. Now I get the right 5.20V everywhere it should. Now the bad news : I did already all the MIDI troubleshooting, even the loopback with the IN/OUT ports of my PC and I can't get a sign of the PIC. Maybe It's dead ? Thanks again. My gameport is working properly and my MIOS ST. config is the following : PIC and the optocoupler are on the right place too. As everything is working, what can happen ? I've got the LCD ready to assemble. It wold be better to mount it for a better debugging ? Thank you.
  25. I measure 5.20V measuring from the optimized PSU ground to the J1 p.pin. Thank you T.
