  1. Hi Midiboxers,

    i like to put a PIC based core in addition to the LPC17 core in my Seq V4

    to be able to "switch" between 808 and SeqV4 mode, depending on which core is powered on.

    Would it work if i do a simple parallel wiring between the cores and the "external" parts/modules?

    Or could this somehow mess up some connections?

  2. Hi m00dawg!

    Yes, I'm almost certain you can save the state of the instrument after you make changes via NRPN. The MBSID editor (CTRLR or the older one) just send out those or SysEx to do parameter changes.

    May this works. If ctrlr couldt save a nprn edited patch via a sysex then it must be possible.

    I try to capture this string and map it to my keyboard.

    Doing a dump of the buffer I think is possible too but I've never looked into it. Saving partial edits is another story, though. I can't think of a good way to do that.

    I overlooked this memo in the changelog:

    "-individual save function for instruments (for all engines)"

    Maybe this function is available in a further update

  3. Hi everybody,

    in some situations i wouldt like to control my sid only via nrpn controlers

    from an external midi keyboard.

    Now i have some questions:

    Is there a way to store these parameter changes too during a patch save?

    Are they stored in the edit buffer so i can request a dump?

    Is it possible to dump only a range of data from the edit buffer,

    for example to make a save button for every drum instrument?

  5. Hi everyone,

    there is a problem with my Midibox Sequencer V4 (LPC Core)

    If i want to save a Track Event Preset, the sequencer stops working and shows the following error:

    Hard Fault PC=0x0003199c

    It creates a correct named preset but its empty (0 kb filesize)

    But from time to time it saves it correctly.

    I tried different sd-cards without success.

    What couldt be the problem? I searched around the firmware files for this error code but it is not listed

    and i dont really know how to debug it.

  6. Hi Midiboxers!

    I am upgrading my SEQ V3 to V4 and don't get the displays working.

    To besure that there is no connection fault, i measured the connected display from the upsided lcd pins to the corresponding LPC17/74HC959 pins again and again, but detected no fault. So the fault must be somewhere else. (I built the whole core on a breadboard)

    May the LCD connection application will be avaiable for LPC-Cores in future?

    da ich von einem Desktop PC auf einen Laptop umgestiegen bin,

    der leider keinen Parallel Port mehr hat, kann ich meine Brenner nicht mehr nutzen. :(

    Würde mir evtl jemand einen PIC18F4685 brennen wenn ich ihn zusende?

    Ich könnte dafür mit diversen Bauteilen aushelfen oder wenn gewünscht auch paar Euro bezahlen.

    according to the way how you are asking I assume that you noticed that the current instrument selection isn't working in Multi mode?

    Ok i really have not described my problem very well. But i´ve forgotten your comments about multimode, too ;)

    I like to control the drum engine instruments.

    So i mapped the "current parameters" NRPN 32 - 40 on my midi controller but dont know

    how to select different instruments.

    i have some question about controlling these

    "current instrument" parametes via NRPN:

    How do i change which is the "current" one in different engines?

    According to the manual:

    "...the final destination depends on the selection on the control

    surface, or on the MIDI channel..."

    I tried different midi channels and also

    all edit screens, but its allways controlling instrument 1

    first: i was wrong it happens on pattern 6 not 5.

    No matter how they are played (via midi keyboard or matrix buttons) or

    if the midi cable is plugged or not.

    The changes are not randomly:

    Changing to pattern 1 at 1/4bar = "pattern 1a"

    Changing to pattern 1 at 2/4bar = "pattern 1b"

    Changing to pattern 1 at 3/4bar = "pattern 1c"

    Changing to pattern 1 at 4/4bar = "pattern 1d"

    also

    Changing to pattern 2 at 1/4bar = "pattern 2a" and so on..

    i do not really understand the pattern change behavoir in the drum kit 2 patch.

    To play pattern 1 i push O1 Pitch, to play pattern 2 i push O2 Pitch -> erveything OK

    But doing a pattern change from pattern 5 back to 1 then the resulting pattern change

    seems to depend from the actually step which is playing? May i missed something, but i searched

    the manual and forum about this without succsess.

    Can someone explain it to me, please?

    Ich benutzte Java 6 update 3 (laut systemsteuerung->Software).

    Aber wenn der Upload vom Seq so OK ist dann freut mich das natürlich!

    So ich hab jezt mal noch versucht die setup_mbseq_v3.hex Datei via hex2syx umzuwandeln und per MidiOX hochzuladen. Soweit keine Fehlermeldungen beim Upload, jedoch steht beim einschalten des Cores

    "Mios v1.9f" im LCD. Sollte nicht eher "Seq V3.2" oder so angezeigt werden?

    Der Main Screen nach dem startup ist aber der gleich wie im user manual abegebildet.

    War der Upload nun erfolgreich oder nicht?

    Warum das nun wieder? Das deuted doch auf nen falsch Bootloader hin, oder? Aber 1.2 ist doch drauf!?

    Vielleicht haben beide probleme die gleiche Ursache?
