  1. Haha! Yeah, I receive a steady flow of those from my mate Ben.
  2. Cheers guys. No one can argue with "NICE LEAD", eh ;-) Classic patch
  3. I thought he was just curious. Didn't realize I was being "interviewed"... http://www.asianmandan.com/blog/2009/07/we-are-standard-x-dubka/
  4. "Frustrating" doesn't begin to describe this one. And I'm based in London, UK so ordering another bag seems ridiculous... I'm only after 12 yellow and 12 green. I figure if I find the right spec I could just pick some up at maplin. So close to finishing as well. Gutted...
  5. Ha! That's not necessary... I just forgot
  6. You see - it was exactly that type of "idiot-proof" explanation I was looking for. My forgetting that the lcd was mounted on the bottom of the pcb was the low point of this thread for me :-P Cheers Wilba
  7. How do you hold them in place to solder? Don't really understand the reasoning here - I wouldn't have thought clearance on the top side of the lcd was an issue...?
  8. I'm allowed to do that?! One thing I would definitely update is the "optional" on the transistors. Anyway, do you mean to solder the lcd leads on the panel side? Or to solder the switches on the base side? Sorry for the possibly obvious questions but this stuff is too expensive for me to just guess.
  9. Is it just my build or is the lcd set quite far back from the front panel, leaving a noticeable "hole"? And the cs switches are making direct contact with the pads on the lcd. Am I doing something wrong? Also, what sort of screws are you using to fix the lcd to cs pcb? I've found everything about the MB-6582 quite well documented, except fitting the lcd. Cheers, Martin
  10. Just the answer I was looking for. Cheers mate. Back to the bench....
  11. I have them... shall I just solder them in? What difference would it make if I didn't?
  12. Thanks guys. I wish I was able to hack the firmware but I am just a humble musician. A standalone midibox arpeggiator would be great though, eh. Something like the MAM map1. Anyone...? Anyone...? ;-)
  13. I don't think it's really fair to get on Goblinz back about this. He was very kind to organize these buys in the first place and then again to think to offer his spares. Maybe it's just time someone organized another bulk buy... Martin
  14. i.e. - can the midi out be used to arpeggiator other midi synths? Cheers, Martin
  15. The sid is just a v1, no control surface, 1 x 8581 That's it at about 4:30 in the Pin Me Down track. Probably the track with the smallest amount of sid out of all of them but glad you enjoyed the download anyway. Free music always sounds better, eh
  16. thought it may be of interest where I've used my MB-SID so far... www.myspace.com/dubkaisdead Lead/solo sounds on Crypic - Pin Me Down, Last Time - Standard Ostinato figure in the chorus of Comfortable Silence - Cazals www.myspace.com/cazalsuk Doubling guitar arpeggios/lead on Both Sides C64 arpeggio chords from 2:30 of Control OSS-117 Hope you can make them out... Martin
  17. Yeah. Just for the record - I'm not so stupid as to think this sort of thread might get me a kit any quicker. I just didn't understand where all these mb's were springing from. Thought there may have been an alternative to the kits that I wasn't aware of. And I was right - but too late. Now, at ease... and off your high horse ;-)
  18. Don't give me that. I'm not bitching at all - Smash is a brilliant guy whom I happen to really like. I was just confused as to where your pcb's were coming from.
  19. I've already made an mb-sid v1. I'm whining because I bought all the other stuff ages ago and promised a friend I would assemble one for him to return a massive favour (hence my ordering 2 kits). I need the pcb's and pic's for the mb-6582. Is everyone else just making the pcb's themselves? I don't understand how these mb-6582 have started appearing despite there being no sign of the kits from smash...? Martin
  20. Where have you got the parts from? It feels like a year ago that I actually put my name down for 2 kits... How are some of you managing to finish them? I've had pactec cases, 16 x sids and a million rotary encoders gathering dust for far too long now... (a very frustrated) Martin
