no, i messured with the pic on. when i take the pic of i dont have any voltage on this pin. when i put it on, i hve +5 volts on pin33, all other data pins have nothing.

well, if i think about the disaster i have produced on mine, i want to be careful with answering. ;D But as far as i remember i had the same messages sometimes. i have just tried with "use feedback from core" (smart mode) and it worked. "or you could try to leave the core switched off, start the upload... mios studio is now waiting for a request, then switch on the core, it should upload." once you have installed mios, this is also the procedure to reinstall mios or do further updates. after sucessfull mios setup the core schould boot up and only send one sysex in future. applications still can get uploaded anytime during core / mios is running

if somebody out on this planet is reading this??? maybe i have found another question. is it correct to have 4,97 volts on Pin 33 of the PIC (D0) ? on pin 33 i have +5V on all other data pins +0V, but -5V RS is having 0,08V all other pins nothing except of +5V on E and Vä

;D sry, if i might sound a little harsh or what you would call it in englisch..., but i realy start to get headache... i never thought to run into so many problems. one by another. at least now i understand the schematics of the core @topic: i am now sure MIOS is running :-X for some reason still it screws everything up when uploading the sequencer software, but for now i dont even want to know why that is ::). but for a fact, other applications are running, so mios has to be ok. i installed for exampel midi benchmark, ok. it ran nice.. i could see it working :) but the display is not working like it schould do. i installed the lcdinterconnection.hex it semmes like id did something to the display, but not realy schowing anything, exept of the display of the 1st picture i post earlier, maybe sometimes a little flickering. however i have checked at least 5 times that the pins are properly connected. at the paper i downloaded from the web about my display it says as picture that here is pin1 and at the other side pin2. if so, it must be pin7 starting for d0 above the pin1??? i can also adjust contrast and brightness by the trimpots, so i guess i did the proper pin connections... i just don't get a clue out of the hole story. i just see, that with every problem i get, i create new problems which have to get fixed. well, mios is running. could it be that my displays wont work with the core at all because there are not compatbile? it says it is KS0066 or Equivalent??? As far as i heard it schould be compatible?

as far as mios wiki says. mios is installed properly when after switch on, only one sysex message appears... this is what happens when uploading mios... but then when uploading an application, for some reason the primary bootloader gets activated again. i had this problem allready before i even buy the displays... i thought there is something wrong with the midi connection, because sometimes it wouldnt let me upload smething. i have made the hole midi troubleshoot 5 times... for fuck sak some reason now all midi is ok. i dont know, i realy spend lots of cash for the parts... i will build a complete new core and burn my own pic, hopefully it will work

i found a relating thread, so i tryed now once again exactly like Mios Wiki. Switch on "display is like the 2nd Picture" Continuous sysex is sent by core uploading mios 1,9 update.hex display changed to the 1st picture, no more sysex messages switch off / on... only one sysex message appeared display like 1st picture upload setup_mbseq_v3.hex core again start to send continous sysex messages, display stays same switch off / on display changes to picture 2 and continuous syssex messages ???

well, what do you think what it might be if nothing gives a positive result. i can upload mios in any way, i want. the core still keeps sending the messages. after switch on / off, first only one, then after a minute or so all the time... shall i get a burner and delete the core an reprogram it? or should i even think about building a new core with a clean pic?

hmmm ??? actually i don't think that it goes on and off. if so, during uploading mios it should get of course interrupted and abort the upload, not give me upload success message. also the display back light should go on / of is well??? i have just measured again the voltage is on j1 about 9 volt and on j2 around 4,96 volts i have downloaded the mios_update_v1_9f.zip file and tryied to upload the mios_v1_9f_pic18f4620.hex file. as i mentioned, upload sucess, after on /off screen as picture and still sysex send... sometimes it starts to run thru fast... could it be there is something screwed up with the PIC oder Core

again the core started to send for some time the mentioned string really fast, then stopped and started sending again in slow speed continuously and then shortly after... again pretty fast i`ve now switched all of, cant really do anything anymore.

F0 00 00 7E 40 00 01 eben habe ich den core eingeschaltet und habe nur eine einzige Sysexmeldung bekommen. Nach ca. 2 Minten oder so, hat er aufeinmal wieder angefangen alle paar Sekunden zu senden. Manchmal, also wenn der Core länger an ist fängt er an für einige Sekunden in sehr hoher geschwindigkeit diesen string zu senden. stoppt dann kurz und läuft weiter. das display ist dieses: http://www.anag-vision.de/avkat/av4020.htm aber warum sendet er immer weiter diese messages, obwohl ich mehrfach das mios update ausgeführt habe das ist ja erst mal unabhängig vom display?

now for some reason it seems right. i switch on the core an only one sysex message appeared, but the display is as the first picture edit: fking hell... just when i finished writing the post the core started to send continuously sysex messages again ??? and now it even changed between the two pictures. i need a cigarette ;D i have put the upload in to wait state and switched the core afterwards on, also i had used smart mode.

Hello, today i tried to install the displays on to the Core Unit. In first sight everything seems to be fine, MIDI is working and also the Displays light up. I have also double checked all pins are properly connected. so now, when i switch on the Core, i get continuously sysex Strings send to the Midi Out, which is probably right. so when i now start to upload of the mios operating system via midi, also everything seems to be done correctly as far as the mios studio application says... but as soon as the mios upload has been fulfilled, the display changes to the first picture, also still midi sysex is sent by core and the the displays seems to flash a little in the speed of syses is being sent. when i then switch off back on, nothing changes, but also for some reason i could recognize, sysex is no sent continuously anymore all the time. so what i mean is, it changes speed of sending messages. after i uploaded now also the sequenzer software, the display turns to the second picture and still sys ex is sent consant continuously without changes of speed. is there anything i am doing wrong? or does somebody know what the issue might be? thanks for any advise picture 1: picture 2: edit: i have left the core switched on now in the current state. it just started to run a huge amount of sysex messages in very high speed and then stopped. now it is again sending sys ex in short instances again.

Also irgendwie verliere ich solangsam die lust... Ich habe heute die Displays bekommen und sie angeschlossen. ich erhalte allerdings nur folgende Anzeigen... Wenn ich das Mios Update mache, erhalte ich die Anzeigendarstellung des oberen Bildes, ausserdem sendet der Core immer ein sysex String, teilweise auch nur sporadisch. Wenn ich die Sequenzer Software hochlade erhalte ich das untere Bild nach dem einschalten... Ich erhalte bei allen Upload Prozessen die Rückmeldung mit OK Wenn das Mios Update erfolgt ist, flackert die Anzeige mit Ansicht des oberen Bildes. Aus / Ein danach konstant ohne flackern... Weiss jemand was ich falsch mache? kann es sein das gar kein bootloader drauf ist? aber warum sendet der core dann sysex? oder bekomme beim upload ne rückmeldung, ok

ich bin doch hohl das man anfangen könnte zu peifen... es soll mir doch bitte mal jemand auf den hinterkopf schlagen... ei, ich habe die software nun aufgespielt, mann, oh mann, oh mann Stundenlang da rum gemacht und das halbe core auseinander genommen im nachhinein kann man natürlich nicht mehr genau sagen, welche fehler durch die ganze fummelerei zusätzlich aufgetreten sind. Gut die wurden ja dann wieder behoben... Ich trau es mir fast gar nicht zu sagen... aber die polarität am midi out hat nicht gestimmt. laut dem bildchen habe ich es richtig gemacht, habe aber einfach mal zum spass die drähte geändert, den stecker in der luft gehalten um nachzuahmen aus welcher richtung... Es waren wohl ohnehin mehrere Fehler die sich durch die fummelei addiert haben. wie auch immer... ::) ;D Danke für deine Hilfe doc und pssst, niemanden weitersagen, ok? ;D

Nein, jetzt nicht mehr... Das Core Modul hatte mal was gesendet... (kontinuierlich in kurzen Abständen immer eine zeile) das war der Tag, an dem ich mich gefreut hatte das alles so reibungslos läuft. Wie gesagt, ich hatte danach das Mios Update 1,9 hochegladen, weil ich halt unbedingt mal ausprobieren wollte obs funktioniert. Aber seit dem ist Sense. Kein einmaliger Sysex String oder sonstiges. Ich habe mich aber nicht weiter darum gekümmert und die restlichen Modul zusammengebaut. Jetzt wo ich eben die Sequenzer Software aufspielen wollte, ist es mir aufgefallen, das was nicht stimmt Aber es hat auch was Gutes, jetzt habe ich wenigstens mehrfach das MIDI Troubleshoot durchgekaut :-X und konnte so die Schaltung ein wenig beser kennenlernen... :D

so, jetzt kommt definitive MIDI Im PIC an. Bei Test IN 3 flackert das led, wenn ich daten sende, ansonten leuchtet es konstant. (habe selbst den stand alone optokopler test gemacht, oh manno mann ;D) Nun bleibt eben wie gehabt, das alte Problem: Wenn ich einen Mios Hex File Upload machen will passiert nichts. "Starting Upload...." "Hexfile contains... code..., forcing reboot!" das wars ... darum bleib ich bei meiner these... display ran hängen, gucken was da los ist. PIC neu Programieren, oder what ever man dann machen könnte oder müsste

ja den selben gedanken gan hatte ich auch. ich sende jetzt einfach nochmal ein pattern mit vielen noten, mal gucken ob da was am midi kabel flckert... am interface flakert es ja auch, dann muss es ja am kabel auch flackern edit: grade eben, flakert was, ganz leicht, aber es flackert... am stecker... mal gucken aber dann muss es am MIDI Interface liegen... Ich hatte die ganze Zeit Port 8 genommen, auf einmal ist der Port 8 in Cubase und im Mios Studio ganz oben aufgeführt, also vor Port 1. Ich habe jetzt Mal Daten an Port 7 geschickt... und es blinkt am Kabel... ich löte jett nochmal die stecker ans Core und mache den troubleshoot noch ein mal oh mann ::)

nein leider nicht, genau auf diese Zeile warte ich ja auch als... wie gesagt erst hat er gesendet wie verrückt, dann habe ich das update gemacht Meldung Ok, meherere Zeilen... und seitdem ist Sense. Ich habe auch keinen Burner gebastelt, naja mal gucken was raus kommt. Ich baue mir auf jeden Fall noch einen Burner... es scheint wohl doch ganz nützlich zu sein... wie auch immer, ich bin grade eh am ende mit meinem latain ich habe da jetzt so viel herumgefummelt und gemacht und getan, das ich selbst nicht mehr nachvollziehen kann. Wie gesagt, ich hatte ja bereits MIDI, gleich sofort. Erst nachdem ich das MIOS 1,9 Update Hex hochgeladen habe... seitdem bekomme ich keine VErbindung mehr. Im MIDI In Monitor habe ich kontinuierlich Meldungen geshen und am MIDI Interafce hat der entsprechende Kanal geblinkt... Naja, ich hole mir die Tage mal testweise son Display, mal gucken was da angezeigt wird. Hab da eh jetzt keine Böcke mehr auf den Salat. Zumindest sind alle Module schon mal gelötet... Ich hätte mit dem Scheiss Mios Update wohl besser warten sollen, warscheinlich ist da was schief gelaufen.

Hallo, ich habe soeben die MIDI Troubleshoot durchgearbeitet und bin nun beim Punkt Test IN 3 an die erste ungereimheit gestossen. laut dem Troubleshoot soll das led aufblinken wenn MIDI reinkommt. Bei mir leuchtet die led konstant. Habe die Anode nun mit dem Pin 8 vom IC 2 verbunden, hier leuchtet die diode ebenfalls konstant aber wesentlich heller. An Pin 6 leuchtet die led ebenfalls konstant, aber wesentlich schwächer. led paralell zum Midi IN, leuchtet nicht, nur konstant wenn ich die katode mit dem Mittelpin der buchse verbinde Beim Test Out 1 hat die led auch nicht geblinkt oder geleuchtet, allerdings konstant geleuchtet wenn ich Minus an den Mittelpin gehängt habe.

naja, was soll ich sagen, das die widerstände ziemlich krass verbaut sind ist schon klar. naja das letzte mal das ich einen wiederstand verbaut hatte, war in meiner kindheit. jetzt weiss ich wieder das man die beine ganz eng am ende abknicken kann. @ Core Problem Ich habe jetzt nochmal alle Caps neu eingelötet und sie so kurz wie nur möglich gemacht. Werde jetzt noch einmal das MIDI Troubleshoot durcharbeiten, wobei ich ohnehin, aber jetzt schon davon ausgehe das der PIC Neu Programiert werden muss, oder sonst was, naja mal gucken was gleich passiert. Ich finde es halt eigenartig, weil die Mios Aktualisierung funktioniert hat. Da ich aber in der zwischenzeit viel herumgefummelt habe (nicht an stehenden Teilen / lol). Werde ich jetzt nocheinmal jeden einzelnen Punkt aus der Troubleshooting geschichte durchegehen. ps: so langsam kommt man in Übung mit dem löten, alle Boards fertisch.... ööööööö

eure hinweise bezüglich des löten sind schon richtig, ich weiss was gemeint ist. mir sind selbst einige stellen aufgefallen. Die Wiederstände werde ich auch richtig einlöten. Ich hatte ein wenig angst das ich die beine abbreche... noch 2 dout`s und das wars dann im groben... allerdings ist meine anfängliche Freude über das Core und MIdi wieder verflogen. Ich habe das Mios aufspielen können mit Rückmeldung OK. Jetzt wars das wohl vorerst, es macht keinen Mux mehr wenn ich z.B. versuchen möchte die Seqeunzer.hex hoch zuladen, es passiert nix. was auch eigenartig ist... an dem IIC MIDI, das ich getestet hatte hat zwar das grüne led geleuchtet, aber wenn ich midi gesendet habe hatte ich eigentlich erwartet das da irgendwas anfängt zu blinken, weil der Signaleingang ja unabhängig vom rest doch verarbeitet werden müsste. Nun gut, die Tage bestelle ich die Displays, bin mal gespannt was da zum vorschein kommt bezüglich des Core. Da ich eben auch nicht so den technischen Hintergrund habe, kann ich jetzt warscheinlich eh nicht rausfinden warum sich die hex files nicht hochladen lassen. alle messpunkte sind ok, naja das Mios Update ging ja
