  1. Don't know if those last photos uploaded...
  2. So I have 4 of these available if anyone is interested. Cost is 60 bux plus whatever shipping is. It is silkscreen over black anodized aluminum.http://img809.imageshack.us/g/dsc02163q.jpg/ It is deigned to go with the Commodore 64 case. Cheers Al
  3. Still working on the layout. At the moment it looks like it will be like wilba's design, with all the extra functionality he's added, but in a shape that will fit on the commodore case like TK's. Just trying to make sure everything will line and fit with veroboards...
  4. Hello all, I'm going to make a faceplate for my SID 2. It is going to be the same layout as TK's SID 2, the one that he has attached to his C64. It will be black anodized aluminum. The cutting will be done by water jet. It will be silk screened in white. This means that some of the "sub labeling" that TK has will not be there. As with all this kind of stuff the more I do the less it will be. I think if I get 10 done that each panel will be roughly 60 us dollars. The more I do the less it will be. I want to know how many people are interested. Also suggestions for change in the existing design or extra features would be appreciated. I hope that this is not stepping on anybody's toes. If it is, or if no one else is interested I'll just bit the bullet and do a one off for myself. I will not take deposits or anything, I will just get some made up and then if people like the look of them then I'll sell them for cost price (rounded up to the nearest zero!). So if you like the sound of a hopefully pretty cheap panel for the SID 2 please say and I can get an idea of how many I should get made. Cheers Al
  5. Hi, have you found someone who can help? If not you can PM me. I live in Oakland CA Cheers Al.
  6. Hi all, so I got 2 new PICs from SmashTV. Now I have 4 working cores, 1 master and 3 slaves. Cool! So all I can deduce is that somewhere along the line I managed to fry 2 pics. What confuses me now is the fact that I can successfully upload the boot loader to one of these pics, but then when I hook it up to MIOS studio it sends absolutely zero info on power up. I'm pretty new to this pic programming stuff, so please bare with me! Anyway, I should forget about it and get on with testing troubleshooting the rest of the MB-6582. I just have 2 pics which I feel can somehow be resurrected, or maybe I have fried em so hard they are unsaveable. If I can upload the boot loader does this prove they are healthy? Cheers Al
  7. Hi there, the 2 faulty pics do not work in any of the cores, be it master or not. Bit stuck with this now...
  8. Hi, I checked that out, but as the 2 pics are not responding to MIOS studio I cannot use the hex files to change the ID. As far as I know they can only be loaded via midi. I burn the boot loader, switch over to the core and mios studio and nothing. Cheers Al
  9. Hi, I'm using the PIC18 software along with the MB pic burner. I can not see anywhere to change the ID while uploading via the pic burner. I assume all the ID's are written as 0 when there is a fresh install of the boot loader. Same situation, 2 chips are still not talking with MIOS studio. But the boot loader is apparently uploaded successfully. I am now assuming I have 2 corrupt chips and have ordered 2 more from SmashTV...
  10. No more developments. If I can successfully upload the boot loader via a pic burner does this mean the pic is 100% working? Or is there still the possibility that I have 2 faulty chips? Cheers Al
  11. Hi, yes, I'm testing different chips in the same core on the MB 6582 baseboard. I got the PICs from SmashTV, they are all PIC18f4685's. I was trying to upload MIOS 1.9g to them as they came with 1.9f on them. After this didn't work, on a core I knew was working, I uploaded the bootloader hex file via a pic burner. This fixed one chip, but 2 are still unresponsive. It says the PIC has been burned correctly, so I don't think that is the problem. Cheers Al
  12. So out of desperation I built the pic burner on the ucapps site. I now managed to get the one PIC that was sending the F0 00 00 7E 40 00 01 F7 message fully working, Great! However the other 2 are still unresponsive. I reloaded the bootstrapper via the pic burner, successfully. Hooked up to the MIOS studio still no joy. I have tried swapping cores, but it appears that it is something with the chip. Am I missing something? Cheers Al
  13. I tried to update the mios to 1.9g. 1 pic works. 1 sends the F0 00 00 7E 40 00 01 F7 message but MIOS studio says no response from the core, 2 pics send nothing...
  14. More info...when I turn on the core I get the correct f0 00 00 7e 40 00 01 f7 midi in message. Unfortunately it is accompanied by No response from MIOS8 or MIOS32 core! I have put the PIC(4685) in a core that I know works, my MB808 core. So have I somehow screwed up the bootloader? All I did was try and update the MIOS...any thoughts? Cheers Al edit: So it is not consistent. Not all PIC send a message to the in port. 1 chip occasionally gets to the stage where it says Application is up and running. I managed to update the MIOS on this chip. I am using the same core, swapping chips and getting confused with all of this. 1 working PIC, one which just sends a message and another that does nothing. The one that works device ID is 02.
  15. Hello all, so I've built the bare board for the MB652. I put all 4 pics in, after testing voltage points etc. The LCD said READY, so I thought all was well. I went to upload the latest MIOS, 1.9g and now it says either "no response from the core" or "MIOS8 cannot open bootloader" So now MIOS studio will not talk to the PIC. The LCD now just displays blank squares. What have I done?! The PICs are from Smash TV, the board is REV 1. I have lifted the xtals a bit so there is no short. I have tried each core and none talk to mios studio. So I suppose it must the midi section rather than the core..Any ideas? Cheers Al
  16. Hi I had a similar problem. It was caused by me not connecting the ground at the +/-12v jumper. I was trying to avoid ground loop. Also make sure your port/ cv configuration is correct. Good luck! Cheers Al
  17. Hi found the problem. I was did not have the ground at the +12/-12 connected. I did this because I thought if you were using a common ground with the seq4 it should not be connected to avoid a ground loop. I connected the ground and all is well. GREAT!!! One bit of confusion though, when C-3 is playing I get 5v, as the instructions ay it should be, but I am getting c-6 from my VCO...anyway, sorry if I wasted your time with my silly mistake! Cheers Al
  18. Hi, so I have gone into the cv config page and set it to AOUT NG. Still no luck. No gate or no CV. Now I'm starting to pull my hair (tho I don't have much !) out. My out port is set to AOUT. Midi was working fine, but can't get no damn analog!!! Any ideas? Cheers Al
  19. I have changed it to AOUT in the event page. Where is the CV configeration page? I can't find it. As for the gates, I shouldn't have to change the config from the default, should I? Cheers Al
  20. Hi there, sorry, me again! So the SEQ4 is up and running with midi working fine. I am having problems trying to get the gates and cv working. I have 8 jacks coming out of the gates provided on the CORE board. There are also 8 cvs coming out of the AOUT NG which I have hocked up. I am not getting any voltage/triggers from either the gates or the cv's. I'm using the default MBSEQ_HW.V4 file. I think I must be missing some kind of configuration setting or something else pretty obvious. Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers Al
  21. Thanks guys, problem solved. Both your hunches proved correct, some dodgy soldering on one of the din boards and some misaddressing of my midi port were my problems. Thanks for the help, now on to further testing! Cheers Al
  22. Hi there, happy new year to all! Finished building my seq4 and am having a couple(so far!) of problems that I can't seem to sort out. Firstly I can't get any midi out. I am using the standard MBSEQ_HW.V4 file. Midi seems to be working fine when interacting with the MIOS studio, in and out is checked and all seems good. I'm justing putting a few notes into a sequence, playing it and I am getting no midi notes coming out. All that is read is the start stop info. Secondly, a really baffling one for me, the 2nd GP button works intermittently. Sometimes GP button 1 controls it, then GP 2 becomes inactive. I've checked the switch, changed the relevant IC on the DIN board and checked for errors. Can't find anything wrong... Anyway, any help much appreciated! Cheers Al
  23. Cheers mate. Glad to hear your rockin that mb808 again! p.s. Any idea where we're at with batch 3 of the mb 808. I noticed people are starting to get itchy feet about it...
  24. Hi there, here is a link to 808 with broken sequencer. Now, thanks to midibox, it lives! The sequencer is the same as the mb808 seq. It rocks! Thanks programmers. Now I need to fix m ke board...
