having 2 PSU options on the same c64 Plug / CORE (c64 and 14v)

in the c64 power plugs there are 2 free pins.

i'm thinking to use this to connect a 14v modified psu with the same c64 male plug. so i can use the original or the 14v one.

but i know that 7805 must not stuffed into the core and 2 pins must shorted.

a) can i leave the 7805 soldered when i connect the c64 PSU?

b) the optimized psu circuit will receive the Voltage form the SID and CORE when the 14v mod it's plugged. this will be bad for noise/dropping etc.?

i'm doing some test but more prof. member can suggest me ho do it (without a switch better) i've NO space.

regards.

Well i think i know what ganchan means. On some of the c64 psu's you got more than four pins inside the connector maybe he wants to use these since they are unconnected for his other PSU....am i right??

That's a good question indeed Stryd maybe Ganchan could be/should be more clearer....maybe he wants to connect a washing machine or a hair dryer. :-\ :o ;D :D ;)

an hair dryer!! i'm bald obviously!

i'll try to explain:  ;D

my SID have the optimize psu circuit inside ok?

c64 psu use 4 pins ok?

the connector have 6 pins ok?

i want to take a 14v psu, cut the connector, and replace with the c64 one, and connect to the free pins the negative and positive ok?

so i can plug or the c64 psu, that use him own pins, or the 14v psu, that use the 2 free pins.

on the sid/core side, the female connector had c64psu

4pins +-5v / +-9v -> connected to the optimized psu, -> and than to j2 core j2 sid +5, j1 sid +9;

2pins+-14v connected to j1 sid converted to +9v 7809, to j1 core that convert with 7805 +5v, from here to j2 sid.
