i am starting a project in which i need 36 pushbutton to command a software by midi.

I was thinking using the MIDI io 128 program.

Could you please confirm the hardware i need please? :-\

- 1 core

- 2x DINx4 (64 digitals inputs for 36 used)

This midibox will be added in a midi chain. Do i need other things?

Correct. (Although you could just perfboard the second DINx4 as it really only needs to be a DINx1)

That's really up to you isn't it? Possibly a MIDI Through? Definitely some buttons and a case ;D

A last question please. According to my configuration, i will use 18 Switch on the first Dinx4 and 18 switch on the second DINx4.

Is it a problem?

No, it's no problem. You can connect your switches on whatever DINput you want, you don't have to fill up the "gaps".

But... why would you want that? Is my guess correct, that you want to devide the switches into two different physical areas?

If yes, please be aware that the cable lenght is not unlimited. Search the forum for "cable lenght".
