DavidBanner Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 I'm trying to get my hands on 5 x Burr-Brown BUF634P buffers, but there seems to be a worldwide shortage, Digikey, Mouser, RS all have them on back-order.They are $6 a pop from the places listed above but someone on ebay wants $15ea! Anyone have any in a draw they would like to sell me or have any suggestions where I could look?
stryd_one Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Nothin new there - that's why we needed a new AOUT :)If you can find them at all you're doing well - I'd take the ebay deal.
DavidBanner Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 oh dear - that's not good news!!does that mean the Digikey/Mouser orders will never be filled? Or should I stick some on back-order with digikey to make sure I get some when they next ship??
stryd_one Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Probably never.... They've all been out of stock ("backordered"... yeh right) for a long time now (a year or more perhaps). Mouser was the last to have any, and I pointed out the handful of remaining ones to someone and they didn't last long ;)If you're really stuck, I think that alternative parts have been discussed on the forum from time to time... but AFAIK there was only discussion :(
TheAncientOne Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Checking the TI website shows 3 stockholders, but sadly no P variants. Could you adapt to the heavy duty or SMD versions?See TI BUF 634 page.Hope this helps
DavidBanner Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 yah - I can work with the SMD version...I'll check the page and start looking right now. Thanks Prof!
DavidBanner Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 oh and that stockist is asking $30 per Chip via buy-it-now on Ebay...
DavidBanner Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 mmm, it seems only the Asian supplier has them in the package I need and they only do min 100 quantity.
TheAncientOne Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 last thought. Is it worth having a look at BUF602 ?
