Switched power supply 12V to MF module?

Hi

I have good switched supply DC 12V, 2A with tolerable filtering, I think. (RIPPLE & NOISE 120mVp-p)

What I must keep on MF module board from capacitors and others filterning things?

I want save place on my MF board and some parts are useless.

X1 : B40C1500 - not stuffed

C1 : 2200uF - not stuffed? (maybe lower value)

C2 : 100nF - not stuffed?

D33, IC4, R1, P1, C3, C4 - I must keep for exactly setting 8V for MF

Thanks for your answers

In other threads I've seen the gurus write that "Switching (power supply) is no good"...

Sometimes, and mostly for Audio-circuits, because of humm ! Look here, I use a PC-PSU from an very old 386/486-PC for my LC (the MF-Board isnt shown on the pic)...

works great, test it if it brings you instantly the right voltage after poweron ;)

You can replace the 2200µF cap with a smaller one (I *think* 1000µF will be okay, there's a value given on one of the SID schems on ucapps.de), you can leave out the bridge rectifier. That's about it. The rest appears to be what's in the LM317 datasheet and should most likely not be replaced.

I replaced R1 (240) by a 150 Ohm, because I didnt reached the 8V with P1. Also dont forget mounting a heatsink to the LM317, or the voltage will drop down after a little time when some faders moving.
