I'm developing my Midibox 64 to control traktor, unfortunately on my notebook i don't have any COM port, so, can i use a converter to USB? or maybe to Firewire which is faster and more reliable?

... did not work for me, but I don't know if it depends on which brand you're using.

I had to refit an old P3 Motherboard which I only use for the Bootstrap loader.

I would propose to join the GM5 order, it's the best solution, especially better than COM->USB chips (read the thread for details)

You won't find firewire based MIDI interfaces because the isochronous protocol makes it unusable for live playing.
